The Brooklyn Nets have recalled forward Tornike Shengelia and guard Tyshawn Taylor from the Springfield Armor of the NBA Development League.
Shengelia and Taylor have played 10 and eight games, respectively, for the Armor.
Both players will be available for the Nets on Thursday.
Jeff Van Gundy thinks the Brooklyn Nets should be considered overachievers.
“I think they’ve overachieved, absolutely,” Van Gundy said.
The Nets are 40-28, just a game behind the New York Knicks for third place in the Eastern Conference.
Van Gundy believes the Nets have a chance to make a deep playoff run this season.
“Well, listen, they could go to the Eastern Conference Finals,” he said. “No question. Because I think anybody could, minus the team that gets Miami.
“If they can get up to third, they could make the Eastern Conference Finals, because someone is [going to]. But they also could lose in the first round.”
The Brooklyn Nets' media relations Twitter hasn't posted since Feb. 28.
The account, @Nets_PR, had become infamous in NBA social media circles for frequently posting light-hearted Tweets.
"The Nets are 32-0 when outscoring opponent this season," was one of the more heavily re-Tweeted posts.
This change was announced at the Sloan Sports Media Conference by Jayne Bussman-Wise, Digital Director of the Brooklyn Nets & Barclays Center, in a panel called "Staying Relevant: Social Media Analytics."
The account had roughly 1,000 followers at the beginning of the season, and grew to over 6,000 since the tweets were taken over by Nets Public Relations Manager Calder Hynes.
The Brooklyn Nets have reassigned Tornike Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor to the Springfield Armor, the Nets’ NBA Development League affiliate.
In his previous four assignments to Springfield, Shengelia played in seven games, averaging 25.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 37.3 minutes. He was named NBA D-League Performer of the Week on Jan. 28.

Andray Blatche does not intend to maximize the monetary value of his next contract.
Blatche will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
“I’m very aware (of my unique situation),” Blatche said. “That’s what I’m saying. Everybody is probably thinking I’m looking to get that big check. I’m not. Not at all. I’m looking at what’s best for me.”
Blatche was amnestied by the Washington Wizards and is still getting paid by the team through the 2014-15 season.
Any compensation Blatche receives in his next deal will be deducted from what the Wizards owe him.
“If I get a lot (in my next contract), yeah, it’s going to take pressure off the Wizards,” Blatche said. “But that’s why I’m not going to do that.”
The Brooklyn Nets have assigned forward Tornike Shengelia and guard Tyshawn Taylor to the Springfield Armor of the NBA Development League.
This is the fourth D-League assignment this season for Shengelia. In six games with the Armor, Shengelia is averaging 26.8 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.
This is the third time this season Taylor has been assigned to the Armor. In four games with Springfield, Taylor is averaging 26.5 points, 7.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game.
Deron Williams had a historical night Friday against the Washington Wizards, setting three records in the process.
After just one quarter of play, Williams set the Brooklyn Nets' franchise record for most three-pointers in a quarter by making all seven of his attempts.
Williams proceeded to make two more three-pointers to close the half with nine total. In doing so, Williams set a new NBA record for three-pointers made in the first half of a game.
Washington made defensive adjustments in the locker room at the half and routinely double-teamed Williams, trapping him before any pick-and-roll plays could develop.
Williams finished the game with 11 three-pointers, which set a Nets' franchise record.
“I definitely got hot, especially in that first half,” said Williams. I just found myself really open. They were helping off me and going under on screens. I hit the first couple and those shots, when they leave your hand, they feel like they’re good, so I just kept shooting.”
Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall share the NBA record for three-pointers in a game with 12.
Kris Humphries was informed on Wednesday morning by P.J. Carlesimo that he is no longer part of the Brooklyn Nets' rotation moving forward this season, according to a league source.
Humphries has averaged just 18.4 minutes this season, a year after signing a two-year, $24 million contract with the Nets.
The Nets could have traded Humphries to the Charlotte Bobcats for Ben Gordon at the trade deadline, but they chose not to.
Deron Williams went through a three-day juice cleanse during his extended All-Star break.
Williams detoxified his body and dropped weight.
Williams also said the latest injections into his inflamed ankles (cortisone and platelet-rich plasma) were “finally in the right spot.”
Williams has been more explosive since the All-Star break.
“I feel a little better,” Williams said. “I can actually go up and down stairs. I can run around with my kids. I can go to the playground with them. I don’t hurt every time I take a step."
Williams has a PER of 19.13 in seven games since the break, up from 18.22 in 50 games beforehand. More importantly, Williams is averaging five more points per game in two additional minutes while shooting at a more effective rate.
