P.J. Tucker Could Receive Interest From Suns, Bucks If Traded And Bought Out

Jan 17, 2024 5:03 PM

P.J. Tucker has fallen out of the Los Angeles Clippers' rotation and could be a candidate for trade and then buyout.

The Washington Wizards could trade for Tucker with the intent of buying him out.

If Tucker is bought out, the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks are two teams who could pursue him. Tucker is eligible to go to any team after a buyout because his salary is below the non-taxpayer mid level exception.

Tucker signed a three-year, $33 million contract with the Sixers during the 2022 offseason.

James Harden Wants To Re-Sign With Clippers

Jan 17, 2024 8:40 AM

During the LA Clippers-Oklahoma City Thunder broadcast, TNT's Chris Haynes dropped some intel on James Harden's mindset for his next deal. Haynes said that Harden hopes to re-sign with the Clippers on a long-term deal.

LA acquired Harden earlier this season from the Philadelphia 76ers. After an initial bumpy start, the Clippers have been one of the NBA's best teams.

Harden is scheduled for unrestricted free agency in July. He's not eligible to sign an extension, so re-signing with LA will have to wait until this summer. Kawhi Leonard recently said that part of his plan in taking less in his extension with the Clippers was to give the team a better opportunity to keep Harden and Paul George. It's been reported that George is in extension discussions with the Clippers.

Kawhi Leonard Expects Paul George, James Harden To Remain With Clippers

Jan 11, 2024 8:53 AM

Kawhi Leonard reportedly took less than his maximum possible in his extension. That was done in hopes that it will pave the way for the LA Clippers to keep both Paul George and James Harden.

"With the conversation that I have with them about it, I think for the most part everybody is coming back," Leonard said after the Clippers beat the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night. "So, with me signing an extension, I think it gives us a chance to sign both of those players."

George said that he and the Clippers are "working through it" on a possible extension. He ultimately said he thinks it will get done, with Leonard's extension setting the table.

"I mean, absolutely," George said when asked whether Leonard's extension is a steppingstone to him staying. "You secure and lock in Kawhi. Definitely leaves the door open for myself, but very, very optimistic something will get done on my behalf, as well."

Harden is not extension eligible after his trade to the Clippers from the Philadelphia 76ers. He's set to hit unrestricted free agency, but all signs point to Harden re-signing in LA.

Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to a three-year, $152.4 million contract extension that runs through the 26-27 season.

Leonard will not hold a player option in his new deal, which is approximately $8.5 million under his max over three seasons.
