Clippers Unveil New Logos, Uniforms

Feb 26, 2024 8:58 AM

The LA Clippers are opening a new arena next season. With that will come a new look for the team. Not just a minor rebrand, but a major one from top to bottom.

The Clippers will have a new primary logo that features a ship embedded inside a stylized "C". The team's alternate logo will feature a stylized "LA" with the A perched atop the bottom portion of the L.

The team's color scheme will still feature a mixture of blue, red and white, but with different tones. The Clippers will now feature a navy blue shade as their primary color, with red, white, grey, and eventually a power blue, mixed in.

The team also considered changing the franchise's nickname. But fan feedback showed that fans have an attachment to the Clippers name. One team official said the idea of changing the name drew "outright hostility" from fans. That wasn't lost on team owner Steve Ballmer.

"The focus groups are advisory, not definitive," Ballmer told ESPN. "But I still listen to them, and I have heard, partially to my surprise, that there is no interest in a name change. I had thought about [the name] years ago, before I got the team, but we heard similar reactions back then."

The new logos, uniforms and color schemes will begin with the start of the 2024-25 season. That's in conjunction with the team moving into the new Intuit Dome for the start of next season.

Kawhi Leonard To Play 'A Little Bit' In All-Star Game

Feb 17, 2024 5:41 PM

Kawhi Leonard missed the LA Clippers final game before the All-Star break due to adductor soreness. However, Leonard seemed to indicate the injury isn't serious before the All-Star Game.

Leonard said he'd play "a little bit" in Sunday's game. That seems to indicate that Leonard's injury shouldn't be anything that causes him to miss much time.

The Clippers star has played in 48 of his team's 53 games this season. This includes playing in both ends of multiple back-to-back sets.

Lue was ejected from the game in the fourth quarter.

"Where the refs at now? Cheating. That's all they be doing," yelled Lue near the Clippers' locker room following the ejection.

Kawhi Leonard Uncertain To Play In All-Star Game Due To Left Adductor Strain

Feb 15, 2024 1:24 AM

Ty Lue downplayed Kawhi Leonard's left adductor strain on Wednesday.

"I don't think it's that serious. He played through it last game, was experiencing some soreness in the hip, so when the game got out of reach we didn't bring him back in the fourth quarter to be smart about it," said Lue.

Leonard's status for this weekend's All-Star Game is uncertain.

Sources add that Leonard is still expected to go to Indianapolis for the weekend even if he does not play in the game.

PJ Tucker, Clippers Have Productive Conversation About Role

Feb 14, 2024 11:30 AM

PJ Tucker will be away from the Los Angeles Clippers beginning on Wednesday until some point after the All-Star break.

Tucker and the Clippers have had productive discussions this week about him staying ready for potentially reentering the rotation in the future. Tucker has been frustrated by his lack of playing time.

The Clippers didn't find a suitable trade for Tucker at the deadline.

Tucker has an $11.5 million player option for next season, which makes a buyout unrealistic.
