Kawhi Leonard Has Been Focused On 'Home And L.A.'

Dec 15, 2018 12:43 PM

The acquisition of Kawhi Leonard by the Toronto Raptors has gone extremely well, but they remain nervous about their odds of re-signing him in 2019.

"They can't change the geography. They can't change the weather in Toronto. Those were always be things against them in this," said Adrian Wojnarowski. "Home and L.A. has been the focus for Kawhi Leonard through all of this."

Wojnarowski also added that quality of life will also be a priority for Leonard and that his prior championship changes the equation for some players.

Leonard previously sought a trade from the San Antonio Spurs to one of the two Los Angeles teams.

The Los Angeles Clippers have been sending Lawrence Frank to an inordinate number Raptors' games and have been treating Leonard's impending free agency almost like a college recruiting process.

Clippers Have Master Plan To Add Both Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant

Dec 12, 2018 9:11 AM

The Los Angeles Clippers are executing a "revolutionary" plan to sign either Kawhi Leonard or Kevin Durant - or both - this offseason, according to Brian Windhorst.

The chase to add Leonard and Durant, described as a "transparent obsession", is driven by Steve Ballmer's unique approach to free agency. The Toronto Raptors have noticed a Clippers employee at 75% of Raptors home games this season, including team president Lawrence Frank (team presidents and general managers don't usually attend games that don't involve their own team).

Windhorst notes that their ability to sign both Durant and Leonard was made possible through savvy moves by general manager Michael Winger in signing Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell to team-friendly deals.

Lou Williams Out For Estimated Two Weeks With Hamstring Injury

Dec 12, 2018 1:48 AM

Lou William injured his right hamstring during the Los Angeles Clippers' 123-119 win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday.

Doc Rivers said his "best guess" was that Williams would be out for two weeks. Williams is averaging 17.2 points and 4.5 assists per game.

When asked who on the Clippers roster would replace Williams' production, Rivers said "you are not going to replace Lou so don't try. Just don't try. Just try to score as much as you can, stay aggressive and move the ball more."
