Flynn Could Play Within A Week

Nov 29, 2010 4:42 PM

Timberwolves point guard Jonny Flynn says he could return to the court within a week, whether it's for Minnesota or in the NBDL.

Flynn is recovering from summer hip surgery and Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis has said that a stint in the D-League could be beneficial to the young guard.

"I could be playing within a week, whether that's the D-League or the NBA. Get one game in the D-League, a rehab game. So within the next week there is a high possibility I'll be playing," Flynn told Kent Youngblood of The Star Tribune.

Flynn Dealing With 'Mental Block'

Nov 22, 2010 8:52 AM

Timberwolves point guard Jonny Flynn admitted Saturday that he's dealing with a "mental block" as he struggles to regain form following hip surgery in July.

Flynn said the injury prevents him from going full speed in conditioning workouts and drills.

"In my mind, you feel tightness in certain areas, so you don't want to go past certain barriers," Flynn said.

"That's why you don't see me exploding like I used to or showing that pop in my legs. I'm still trying to get past that."

Rambis: D-League Would Be 'Beneficial' To Flynn

Nov 20, 2010 10:16 AM

Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis says a stint in the D-League would be "beneficial" to guard Jonny Flynn, who is still recovering from hip surgery.

"It's not something we would force on Jonny, but if it's amicable, I think it would be a very valuable option for him and us," Rambis said.

Flynn said he would be willing to go to the D-League to help prepare for his return.

Jackson: Love's Fouls Go Uncalled

Nov 20, 2010 9:53 AM

Lakers coach Phil Jackson says that Timberwolves forward Kevin Love gets away with fouls all too often.

Los Angeles defeated Minnesota on Friday night in a battle of the NBA's top two rebounding teams. Love had the league's first 30-30 game since 1982 last week.

"He fouls and gets away with it a lot," Jackson said when asked how Love rebounds so well.

"He jumps over guys' backs. But he's there, he's pursuing it and he's got a reputation now and [the referees] are giving him some latitude. But you have to give him that for determination and effort."

Jackson said Love isn't alone when he pushes and fouls to get a better chance at controlling the boards.

"Dennis [Rodman] was great at that [too]," Jackson said. "He used to have a spin move that was a really good move, but he fouled. They all do."
