There were approximately 20 teams who made inquiries to the Cleveland Cavaliers upon learning of Kyrie Irving's trade requests but far fewer have delivered legitimate proposals.

The San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks and Miami Heat have made offers to the Cavaliers for Irving.

The Cavaliers are seeking a package similar to what the Denver Nuggets received for Carmelo Anthony in 2011. Denver acquired a combination of young players, win-now veterans and draft picks. Rival teams are instead looking at what the Wolves gave up for Jimmy Butler.

Koby Altman is taking a measured approach to negotiations.

"I'll say this about [Altman]," one rival GM interested in Irving told ESPN. "He isn't overwhelmed. He's showing real poise."

The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed upon a two-way deal with Anthony Brown.

Brown was selected 34th overall in the 2015 draft by the Lakers.

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Andrew Wiggins are negotiating a contract extension.

The max extension for Wiggins would be worth approximately $148 million over five seasons.

"We're working on it right now," said Tom Thibodeau.

The Wolves can have up to two five-year "designated" extensions as Karl-Anthony Towns will become eligible for an extension in 2018.

When Minnesota signed Kevin Love to an extension coming off his rookie deal, David Kahn saved the five-year extension for Ricky Rubio as teams could only have one designated extension under the previous CBA.

Jamal Crawford has agreed to sign a two-year, $8.9 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves once he clears waivers.

The second-year of Crawford's deal with the Wolves will be a player option.

Crawford was released by the Atlanta Hawks following his trade by the Los Angeles Clippers.

Crawford has played 17 seasons in the NBA.

Justin Patton has undergone surgery for a broken fifth metatarsal in his left foot.

Patton suffered the injury during a recent workout.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to rescind the qualifying offer to Shabazz Muhammad.

Muhammad is now an unrestricted free agent as a deal with Minnesota was unlikely. The Wolves will need the cap space in order to sign both Jeff Teague and Taj Gibson.

Muhammad is represented by Rich Paul.

Taj Gibson has agreed to sign with the Minnesota Timberwolves on a two-year, $28 million deal.

Tom Thibodeau coached Gibson for several seasons with the Chicago Bulls.

Gibson finished the 16-17 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder following a deadline trade. The Thunder have a big hole now at power forward but they would have struggled with the tax re-signing Gibson to this kind of deal.

The Denver Nuggets are now considered the favorites to sign Paul Millsap.

The Phoenix Suns are out of the running for Millsap, while the Minnesota Timberwolves may also be out.

Millsap almost certainly will not return to the Atlanta Hawks.

Denver is meeting with Millsap in Atlanta Saturday afternoon with Josh Kroenke, Tim Connelly, Michael Malone and Gary Harris in attendance.
