Suns Begin Interviewing Candidates For GM Job

Feb 28, 2019 8:34 AM

The Phoenix Suns have begun interviewing candidates for their general manager vacancy.

The Suns have employed James Jones and Trevor Bukstein as co-interim general managers since firing Ryan McDonough. Both Jones and Bukstein could stay on as either a general manager or in another role.

The search comes one day after Adrian Wojnarowski was critical of the Suns and their perception around the NBA.

“This is an organization that is in a spiral in almost every way,” Wojnarowski said. “It is a concern for the NBA. Owner Robert Sarver has not seemed to learn a lot of lessons throughout the years about his management style, his hands-on nature and his ability to put an infrastructure in place and allow it to build an organization.”

LaVar Ball Prefers Lonzo Ball End Up With Suns Over Pelicans

Feb 4, 2019 5:27 PM

Lonzo Ball's father, LaVar Ball, has told ESPN that he would like his son to end up with the Phoenix Suns if he's traded by the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ball has been in trade talks involving Anthony Davis.

“We want to be in L.A.," said LaVar Ball. "But if he’s traded, I don’t want Lonzo in New Orleans. Phoenix is the best fit for him. And I am going to speak it into existence.”

Ball was drafted second overall by the Lakers in 2017.
