Richaun Holmes Accused Of Domestic Violence Against Ex-Wife, Child

Mar 24, 2022 2:30 PM

Richaun Holmes has been accused of domestic violence against his ex-wife and child, according to court documents obtained by the Sacramento Bee.

Holmes hasn't played since March 16th and the Sacramento Kings announced shortly thereafter he would miss the remainder of the season for "personal reasons."

The police report states Holmes is accused of causing his son to “bleed from a blow to the head during a visitation on Feb. 6.” A restraining order has reportedly been placed against Holmes.

Holmes denied the accusations in a series of tweets Wednesday that has since been deleted.

The Kings are currently monitoring the situation and released a statement regarding the recent allegations.

“The entire Sacramento Kings organization would like to express our strong stance against any form of assault and domestic violence,” it said. “We respect the legal process and will continue to monitor the situation closely.”

Domantas Sabonis 'Happy' To Be With Kings

Mar 10, 2022 3:08 PM

The Sacramento Kings traded for Domantas Sabonis at the deadline, hoping to balance out their roster and push for a play-in berth. The Kings are unlikely to make the playoffs as they are 20 games under .500 and five games out of 10 in the loss column.

Sabonis was asked by Sam Amick of The Athletic if it felt like a good time for a fresh start in leaving the Indiana Pacers for the Kings, and if he was hoping to be traded.

"Um, I’m going to represent any team that’s on my back," said Sabonis. "That’s who I am. If I would have stayed, it would have been awesome. But now that I’m here, I’m very happy.

Sabonis has two seasons remaining on his contract and was asked if the Kings are a fit for him in the long-term.

"I’m excited," said Sabonis. I’m excited about the whole journey. It sucks that we have that (playoff) drought, but the fact that we can be part of something that can turn it around, you know, that’s the goal. Come in and change the perspective of this organization and what people think. We’re excited that we can be part of that and build it, you know? So I want to stay as long as I can. Everything has to go well, (but) I’m happy here. It’s awesome. The fans are great. I’m excited to see us do good."

Domantas Sabonis Suspended One Game For Making Contact With Official

Domantas Sabonis has been suspended one game without pay for aggressively confronting and making contact with a game official.

The incident began with Sabonis receiving a technical foul for an unsportsmanlike reaction to a called foul. Sabonis then reacted demonstratively again in the vicinity of the game official, and approached and bumped the official in a hostile manner, resulting in a second technical foul and an ejection.

The episode occurred with 4:35 remaining in the fourth quarter of Sacramento’s 131-115 loss to the New York Knicks on March 7 at Golden 1 Center.
