Kevin Durant still wants a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. The Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors remain interested. But a new, and up-and-coming, team has entered the fray.

The Memphis Grizzlies have expressed interest in trading for Durant. The Grizzlies can offer multiple first round picks, as well as promising young players, in a package for Durant.

Thus far, Memphis has held back on including Desmond Bane or Jaren Jackson Jr. in trade offers for Durant. Memphis would like to build their package around draft picks and other young players.

Christmas Day is one of the marquee dates on the NBA calendar. The 2022 Christmas Day slate will reportedly feature eight 2022 playoff teams. The games schedule for the Christmas quintuple-header are:

Philadelphia 76ers at New York Knicks

Milwaukee Bucks at Boston Celtics

Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors

Los Angeles Lakers at Dallas Mavericks

Phoenix Suns at Denver Nuggets

The Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies are preliminarily scheduled to meet on Christmas Day in San Francisco. This is part of the schedule draft the NBA is building for the 2022-23 season.

The Warriors and Grizzlies met in the 2022 Western Conference Semifinals. Golden State defeated Memphis 4-2 to move to the Western Conference Finals.

This is the second reported Christmas Day matchup. The first was the Dallas Mavericks being scheduled to host the Los Angeles Lakers. Warriors-Grizzlies and Mavericks-Lakers are two of what will likely be five matchups on the holiday.

The Warriors are also reportedly going to open the season by hosting the Lakers on Tuesday, October 18.

The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a non-guaranteed training camp deal with Dakota Mathias. The 6-foot-4 guard played in six games with Memphis last season.

Mathias has played in 14 total NBA games with the Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers over the last two seasons. At the G League level, Mathis has shown the ability to be a consistent three-point shooter.
