Bradley Beal Views Trade Rumors 'As A Sign Of Respect'

May 29, 2020 12:44 PM

Bradley Beal has emerged in trade rumors even though the Washington Wizards have maintained the position publicly and privately that he's not available. Beal has also reiterated he wants to remain with the Wizards.

The New York Daily News reported last week that the Brooklyn Nets have had "internal discussions" on trading for Beal.

"It's not the first time I've heard this kind of talk," Beal told ESPN. "It's interesting. To me, I look at it as a sign of respect, that I've been doing good things and guys want to play with me.

"That's an unbelievable feeling. When you hear that Kyrie [Irving] and KD [Kevin Durant] want you, s---, that's amazing. At the same time, you don't know how much there is to it, or how easy it would be to do. And I've put down roots in D.C. I've dedicated myself to this town, this community. I love it here, and it would feel great to know I could grind out winning here instead of jumping to another team.

"But I'd be naive to say that I don't think about it when these stories come up."

Beal wants to reunite with John Wall and see how the Wizards can compete.

"My biggest thing right now is that I want to play with John [Wall] again,'' Beal said. "I want to see him get back to that level where I know he can be, especially since my game has grown so much [while he's been out]. What can we accomplish together? I'm so happy he's healthy, working his tail off."

The Dallas Mavericks tried to sign Michael Jordan when he returned to the NBA for a second time and joined the Washington Wizards.

"I do have one Michael Jordan story," said Cuban. "The day he signed with the Washington Wizards to come back, right when I was buying the Mavs, David Falk said, ‘Why don’t you go meet him?’

“So I went to David Falk’s office and all the papers were there and I was trying to convince him not to sign them and to do something with the Mavs.”

John Wall On Returning From Injury: 'I'm Gonna Be Better Than What I Was Before'

May 3, 2020 1:13 AM

John Wall said he looked forward to returning to the court and that the best of his career was yet to come.

"I'm watching these guys play. Like these young guys, they killing our team and they looking at our bench and stuff. Just know I got those written down in my notes for when I come back when they start next season. I can't wait to see them what I got, what I'm about. But I'm gonna be better than what I was before, and that's the scary part. ... They ain't even get the best of John Wall yet, they just got a clip of him," said Wall on the All the Smoke podcast.

Wall ruptured his Achilles in December of 2018.

Wall also addressed rumors of tension between him and Bradley Beal, saying that they bring the best out of one another.

"They always say, 'Well, they don't like each other. They downgrading each other.' Ain't no John Wall without Bradley Beal. Ain't no Bradley Beal without John Wall. We make each other better. We accommodate each other so well on the court and it works easy for us."
