The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to trade Vit Krejci to the Atlanta Hawks for Maurice Harkless and a second round pick.

The Hawks will dip below the luxury tax with the trade.

Oklahoma City used the $4.9 million Disabled Player Exception from the Chet Holmgren injury to acquire Harkless. 

The Atlanta Hawks have signed guard Armoni Brooks.

Brooks appeared in 54 games (11 starts) during the 2021-22 season with Houston (41 games) and Toronto (13 games), tallying 5.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 15.6 minutes. He also appeared in four playoff games with the Raptors. Brooks saw action in two contests with the College Park Skyhawks before earning an NBA Call-Up to Toronto, averaging 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.0 blocks in 29.6 minutes (.406 FG%, .444 3FG%).

Undrafted in 2019, the 6-3 guard signed a two-way contract with the Houston Rockets on April 3, 2021, appearing in 20 games (five starts), notching 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 26.0 minutes (.406 FG%). He put in a career-high 24 points against the Los Angeles Lakers on May 12, 2021 and pulled down a career-best 10 rebounds against the Utah Jazz on April 21, 2021. In total, Brooks has seen action in 74 games (16 starts) over two NBA seasons, averaging 6.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.4 minutes.

The Atlanta Hawks are set to sign Malik Ellison. It's expected that Ellison will sign a non-guaranteed training camp deal with Atlanta.

The 6-foot-6 wing was with the Hawks last season on a hardship callup, but did not appear in an NBA game. In 25 G League games with the College Park Skyhawks, Ellison averaged 7.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

The Atlanta Hawks have signed guard Jarrett Culver to a Two-Way contract. Culver played for the Memphis Grizzlies last season.

The 6-foot-6 Culver is a three-year NBA veteran. He started his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves before being traded to Memphis before last season.

In 37 appearances last season, Culver averaged 3.5 points in 9.1 minutes per game. Culver became a free agent this offseason because Memphis declined the fourth-year team option on his rookie scale contract.

The Atlanta Hawks have waived wing Chaundee Brown Jr. Brown was entering the second year of his two-year Two-Way contract with Atlanta.

Brown appeared in five NBA games during his rookie season with the Hawks and Los Angeles Lakers. Brown played in 30 games for the South Bay Lakers of the G League last season. The 6-foot-5 wing averaged 15.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in the G League.
