The Toronto Raptors swung a big trade on Saturday by sending OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn to the New York Knicks for RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley and the Detroit Pistons 2024 second-round pick. But many executives around the NBA think the Raptors aren't done making moves.

Toronto nearly traded Pascal Siakam to the Atlanta Hawks this summer. Since then, Siakam and the Raptors haven't been able to reach an agreement on a contract extension. Both sides had reportedly set an informal deadline of December 30 to agree to an extension.

The Hawks are still expected to have interested in Siakam. The Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings have also been rumored destinations for the veteran forward. Siakam has one season remaining on his contract at $37.9 million.

The Atlanta Hawks are expected to explore the trade market for Dejounte Murray leading to the deadline, sources tell Marc Stein.

The Hawks signed Murray to a four-year, $120 million extension last offseason. 

The Hawks have struggled this season and there is some level of skepticism that Murray and Trae Young are a complementary backcourt fit.

Atlanta traded three future first round picks and one pick swap to the San Antonio Spurs in 2022 in exchange for Murray. Murray can become a free agent in 2027 and is represented by Rich Paul.

Atlanta Hawks forward De'Andre Hunter will miss at least two weeks due to inflammation in his right knee. Hunter will undergo a non-surgical procedure on his knee on Tuesday and will be re-revaluated in two weeks.

Hunter has missed Atlanta's last two games due to knee soreness. He's also missed five of the Hawks last eight games overall.

The Hawks hope to have Jalen Johnson back in the lineup, as soon as Tuesday. Johnson's return would help the Hawks, who currently have Saddiq Bey as the only healthy rotation forward on the roster.

The Atlanta Hawks have stumbled to 12-16 and are currently outside of the postseason picture at 11th in the Eastern Conference. On the positive front, Atlanta could be getting Jalen Johnson back from a wrist injury as soon as Tuesday.

Johnson hasn't played since November 25, when he suffered a fracture in his left wrist. Prior to that, Johnson had started in 12 of 15 games for the Hawks. He was averaging career-highs nearly across the board.

The 6-foot-8 forward was scoring 14.1 points and grabbing 7.3 rebounds, to go along with 2.4 assists, 1.1 steals and a block per game. Atlanta's team defense has also suffered without Johnson in the lineup.

The New York Knicks are interested in trading for Dejounte Murray and OG Anunoby, sources told Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Murray will not be available in a trade until January 9 after signing a four-year, $120 million extension with the Hawks last offseason.

The Knicks also remain interested in Anunoby. The Knicks and Raptors briefly discussed a deal involving RJ Barrett last year, though nothing materialized. 

The Knicks will also reportedly consider moving Immanuel Quickley in the right trade.

The Atlanta Hawks discussed trades involving Clint Capela and De'Andre Hunter this past offseason and have signaled they're open to discussing deals involving the pair again this season, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.

The Hawks held discussions last offseason with the Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons and Toronto Raptors.

Atlanta has other more affordable options at the positions occupied by Capela and Hunter.

The Atlanta Hawks have waived Two-Way forward Miles Norris. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, they will sign Vit Krejci to a Two-Way spot to replace him.

Norris appeared in three preseason games with Atlanta and four NBA 2K24 Summer League contests. He saw action in 16 games (14 starts) with the College Park Skyhawks of the NBA G League this season, averaging 9.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 27.0 minutes per game (.414 FG%, .305 3FG%, .636 FT%).

Clint Capela has been diagnosed with a left knee bone bruise. Capela's status is day-to-day.

Capela underwent an MRI on Sunday as he's been dealing with soreness on the knee.

The Utah Jazz reportedly no longer consider Lauri Markkanen untouchable in a potential trade, but they would maintain a high price.

The Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks and Oklahoma City Thunder are considered to be the three teams who most highly value Markkanen, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.

“Do I expect Utah to trade Lauri? No,” another general manager told Yahoo Sports. “But they are saying they’re willing to listen. They are willing to listen to calls on everyone, but it’s a matter of meeting their price like Minnesota did for Rudy [Gobert].”

Markkanen will be eligible to negotiate and extend his current contract before its final season begins in 2024-25. Given Utah's struggles this season and there probable timeline of contention, trading Markkanen at the age of 26 may make more long-term sense for the franchise. 

The Thunder own more draft capital than any other team while also possessing the expiring contract of Davis Bertans at $17 million.

Siakam and OG Anunoby will be free agents in 2024 and there is an increasing expectation that the Toronto Raptors will finally trade one of the pair.

“Toronto’s going to be forced to make a decision,” one general manager told Yahoo Sports.
