Zach LaVine Injures Left Knee, MRI Set For Saturday

Jan 15, 2022 8:54 AM

Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine injured his left knee early in his team's loss to the Golden State Warriors on Friday. LaVine did not return to the game, as the Bulls were blown out.

The star guard is now set to have an MRI on Saturday. Early reports are that LaVine avoided a major injury, and that the MRI is precautionary.

LaVine has turned in an All-Star-caliber season for the Eastern Conference-leading Bulls. He's averaged 24.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. LaVine has done so, while ceding some of his shots and playmaking duties to DeMar DeRozan and Lonzo Ball. That balance has seen Chicago get off to a 27-13 start this season, which is their best in many years.
