Knicks Favorites For Ridnour

Jun 30, 2010 7:13 AM

The Knicks could have the inside track on acquiring free-agent Luke Ridnour, who will ask too much for Milwaukee to retain him.

Ridnour could tutor Toney Douglas and help run Mike D'Antoni's fast-paced offense.

Bucks Looking For Veteran Help

Jun 28, 2010 7:47 AM

The Bucks have a young roster and feel as though they'll bolster their chances of a second straight playoff run if they sprinkle in a few veterans.

"We want to have a young, energetic, athletic team," general manager John Hammond said. "But we also know we need veteran help. There's no question that what helped us last season were guys such as Jerry Stackhouse and Kurt Thomas and John Salmons.

"Those guys have been around the block before. We know that it's a lot of pressure on those young guys to perform every night, especially those guys that haven't been there. The more veteran help you can have, that's important for any team."

Milwaukee hopes to re-sign free agents Salmons and Luke Ridnour.

They offered Salmons a four-year, $27 million deal at the end of their season, but he turned down the contract.

Bucks Acquire Maggette From Golden State

Jun 22, 2010 6:14 PM

The Golden State Warriors have sent Corey Maggette and the 44th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft to the Bucks for Charlie Bell and Dan Gadzuric, the Warriors announced on Tuesday.

?Corey has been a consistent scorer throughout his career,? said Milwaukee GM John Hammond.  ?He shoots a solid percentage from the field and has shown the ability to get to the free throw line.  We?re looking forward to having him in a Bucks uniform.?

?Charlie and Dan are two high-character veterans who can provide us with some of the intangibles that we need on our squad,? said Golden State GM Larry Riley.  ?They are both experienced veterans who will be welcomed additions to our very young team.   Additionally, while we certainly wish Corey well and thank him for his outstanding contributions the last two years, this will help alleviate a log-jam that we have at small forward and, more importantly, power forward, where we expect both Brandan Wright and Anthony Randolph to return from injuries and play an increased role on our team next season.?
