GM: Jennings 'Working On Everything'

Aug 29, 2010 8:01 PM

Bucks general manager John Hammond says Brandon Jennings is working on his all-around game this summer.

"Right now, Brandon is working on everything," Hammond told Sporting News.

"Obviously, as a young player, you can't come in and think you have nothing to get better at. Every year, you have to come back a better player. Brandon is working on cleaning up his shooting form, making his technique more consistent. He is working on his right hand (Jennings is a lefty). He is working on his defense. He played well last year, but I don?t think he is completely satisfied."

Jennings Talks About Forming His Own Dream Team From 2009 Draft

Aug 29, 2010 10:30 AM

Brandon Jennings was working out at the HAX Gym in Los Angeles recently and talked about forming his own Dream Team, similar to the Miami Heat.

"Everybody's trying to team up now to try to beat Kobe [Bryant]," Jennings told TMZ.com.

The Celtics added Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett to Paul Pierce a few years ago, while the Heat brought in LeBron James and Chris Bosh to play with Dwyane Wade this summer.

"So I guess me and Tyreke Evans and Stephen Curry should all call each other in the next two years and try to hook up and play on the same team," Jennings surmised.

He added that he doesn't think teaming up is good for the NBA.

"You lose all the competition," he said.

Bucks May Not Have Room For Gallon

Aug 28, 2010 4:44 PM

The Bucks have yet to sign either of their second-round picks, Darington Hobson or Keith "Tiny" Gallon.

Milwaukee is believed to be on the verge of signing Hobson, which would give them 15 players under contract for next season.

The league maximum is 15, which means Tiny Gallon may not have a spot on the roster.

His agent, Mark Cornstein, acknowledged he is "exploring all options" for his client, including the possibility of playing overseas.

Boykins Sees Growth, Maturity In Bucks

Aug 21, 2010 7:37 PM

Earl Boykins signed a contract with the Bucks on Friday to be part of the team's point guard rotation along with Brandon Jennings and Keyon Dooling.

Boykins admitted that things are much brighter in Milwaukee than they were in 2007 during his first stint with the team.

"The thing that struck me most was the maturity of the team as a whole," Boykins said. "It's a young team, and it's rare in the NBA that young guys really put winning first.

"From playing against them, I knew even if they lost a game, they were playing hard enough to win. And I wanted to be part of a team with a legitimate chance to make a deep run in the playoffs."

Jennings figures to handle a majority of the minutes at point guard, but Boykins will be ready whenever he's called upon.

"My role is to be ready when I'm needed," he said. "I've had this role my entire NBA career so it's nothing new. Throughout the course of the year, everybody is going to have an opportunity to play and produce and help the team win. It's how you approach it.

"If you remain professional, when your opportunity comes, you'll take advantage of it."

Bogut Unsure If He'll Be Ready For Opener

Aug 19, 2010 5:39 PM

RealGM poster Stoposhere2 transcribed the following interview from Andrew Bogut, as he talks about his serious elbow injury.

"It's getting there, frustrating," said Bogut. "Just in Europe, doing physio twice a day. Doing physio every day since being back and you don't see immediate results, with my elbow at least. It's frustrating.

"I'm optimistic that I should be ready for the season but you never know with these things because of the nerve damage and so on, it's on its own course.

"[It's my decision] I'm one of those guys who will play through injury but if I'm not 100% for the season to start, there is no sense going into an NBA season at 85% 'cause we're playing up to May.

"I'm still not even shooting the basketball. I shot the ball a little bit in Europe and got a bunch of fluid down in my elbow so I had to stop shooting. So at the moment I'm just lifting weights and conditioning so we'll see what happens."

Mark Cornstein, Gallon's agent, said, "We're exploring all possibilities."

"All-star weekend is in Los Angeles, and that is a goal to be an all-star. Win 50 games, win the Central Division and get out of the first round and see what happens."

Jennings averaged 15.5 points and 5.7 assists in his rookie season.
