Jason Kidd To Return Next Week Ahead Of Schedule

Jan 21, 2016 12:21 PM

Jason Kidd will resume his duties as head coach next week.

Kidd underwent hip surgery shortly before Christmas and will return ahead of schedule.

The Milwaukee Bucks are 8-7 with Joe Prunty serving as interim head coach.

Kidd was forced to the sideline in December by the deteriorating condition of his right hip, which plagued him for the last few years of his playing career.

It was initially thought that Kidd would have to sit out until Februrary.

"It's been chronic for the last three to four years, since I was in Dallas the last time," Kidd said in December before undergoing surgery. "The pain has been to the point where I can't function. "I've taken all the medicine I can do. Talking to the doctors, there's really no good time to do the surgery. I have to fix myself, and then we move on and get back to work."

Jabari Parker Asked To Defend Opposing Team's Wings

Jan 15, 2016 11:38 AM

Jabari Parker has recently received the difficult defensive assignments for the Milwaukee Bucks against scoring wings like Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins and Kawhi Leonard.

That has left Giannis Antetokounmpo to defend bigs like Tim Duncan.

"He came to us and said he wanted the challenge," Joe Prunty said.

Parker has been described as a diligent worker by the Bucks' organization.

Bucks Haven't Yet Shopped Greg Monroe

Jan 15, 2016 11:35 AM

Greg Monroe is on a two-plus-one contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, meaning he can opt out in 2017.

Signing Monroe was touted as a success in free agency for the Bucks, but he hasn't been a great fit with how the team's defense has taken a big step back.

The Bucks, however, have yet to shop Monroe in trade talks. With the clock ticking on his next free agency, it might be an advantageous time to evaluate his trade value.

Klay Thompson Expected To Be Picked By Bucks In 2011

Jan 8, 2016 12:41 PM

Klay Thompson expected to be drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2011 NBA Draft.

The Bucks picked one spot ahead of the Golden State Warriors at No. 10.

"Honestly, I thought I was going to go to Milwaukee," said Thompson. "They told me they really liked me, and they needed a wing. When they traded their pick, I was kind of nervous in the draft. I said, “Oh, shoot. These guys said they really liked me, and I thought I was going there at No. 10.” But it just really worked out that Golden State took me."

The Bucks traded the pick to the Sacramento Kings, who picked Jimmer Fredette while they ended up with Tobias Harris at No. 19.
