Nylon Calculus' Seth Partnow Hired By Bucks

May 31, 2016 1:09 PM

Seth Partnow of Nylon Calculus has been hired by the Milwaukee Bucks as a consultant.

Partnow has emerged as one of the most well-respected voices in the NBA media on advanced analytics.

Partnow will contribute proprietary data to the Bucks.

"I’d say this was a dream job, but that would imply that I had considered such a thing possible when I started doing this as a hobby a few years back," wrote Partnow. "I have to give a hearty thanks to the Bucks organization and specifically to Mike Clutterbuck, the team’s Director of Analytics, for this opportunity."

The Milwaukee Bucks are working on a contract extension with Jason Kidd.

Kidd led the Bucks to the playoffs in his first season with the team but they took a step backwards in 15-16 after re-signing Khris Middleton and also signing Greg Monroe in free agency.

Kidd also took some time off during the middle of the season to undergo hip surgery.

Kidd is entering the final season of his current contract with the Bucks.

Financial Data Of Bucks' Players Compromised In Scam

May 19, 2016 3:39 PM

In an email sent to players of the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night, the franchise termed the issue as a “serious security incident” and took responsibility for an employee distributing 2015 IRS W-2 documents in an email scam in which team president Peter Feigin was impersonated, sources said.

The W-2 information included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, compensation information and dates of birth.

The NBA and NBPA have been involved in investigating.

Player representatives with clients on the Bucks during the 2015 fiscal year are working to secure the safety of their players’ finances.

“The communication received on this major security breach is unacceptable,” one agent with a client on the Bucks told The Vertical. “The players need to know the exact measures being taken by the Bucks and the FBI to ensure each and every player's identity and financial information will not be compromised. There needs to be accountability for such a mistake, details on the steps taken to rectify it and a process put in place to make sure this never happens again.”
