The Minnesota Timberwolves unveiled Sachin Gupta as the team's Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations.

Gupta spent last season Assistant General Manager for the Pistons.

Known as a pioneer of basketball analytics and one of the leaders in the CBA, I’m thrilled to partner with Sachin as we aim to build the Timberwolves into one of the most modern and dynamic franchises in the NBA," said President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed Jordan McLaughlin to a two-way contract.

McLaughlin, 23, played for the Timberwolves entry in the 2019 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 9.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists in seven games, all starts. The 6-1 guard tallied 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists in Minnesota’s 90-87 win over Miami on July 10 and eight points and nine assists in the Wolves’ quarterfinal win over Dallas on July 13. 

McLaughlin spent last season in the NBA G League with the Long Island Nets, playing in 39 games and averaging 15.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.6 steals per contest. After going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft, McLaughlin played for the 2018 Brooklyn Nets Summer League entry and signed a training camp contract with the Nets on August 20, 2018. 

The Minnesota Timberwolves have declined to match the Memphis Grizzlies' offer sheet for Tyus Jones, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Grizzlies signed Jones to a three-year, $24 million offer sheet.

The Timberwolves declined to match the offer as they are pursuing max cap space for the summer of 2020, added Wojnarowski. 

The Minnesota Timberwolves have claimed Tyrone Wallace off waivers.

The Los Angeles Clippers waived Wallace last week.

Wallace began his career in the G League and was signed to a Two-Way contract with the Clippers.

The Memphis Grizzlies signed Tyus Jones to a three-year, $24 million offer sheet, league sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Jones is a restricted free agent of the Timberwolves.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Grizzlies were able to sign Jones to the offer sheet after creating cap flexibility by trading Delon Wright to the Mavs earlier in the day.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed center Naz Reid to a two-way contract. 

Reid, 19, appeared in 34 games as a freshman for LSU in 2018-19, averaging 13.6 points and a team-high 7.2 rebounds in 27.2 minutes. He was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team after leading the Tigers to the SEC regular-season championship and a Sweet 16 berth. Reid, 6-10, tallied 26 points and 14 rebounds against Florida in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. He scored a career-high 29 points against UNC Greensboro on November 9, 2018 and Mississippi State on February 6, 2019. 

A five-star recruit out of Roselle Catholic High School in Roselle, New Jersey, Reid led his team to the Non-Public B state title, scoring the winning points on an alley-oop dunk with 6.3 seconds to play. Reid participated in the 2018 McDonald’s All-Star Game, scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to a three-year, $11.5 million deal with Jake Layman in a sign-and-trade agreement.

Noah Vonleh has agreed to a one-year deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Vonleh spent last season with the New York Knicks.

Jordan Bell has agreed to a guaranteed deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Bell was a second round pick in 2017 by the Golden State Warriors.
