The Oklahoma City Thunder are signing Two-Way player Aaron Wiggins to a four-year, $6.4 million deal. Wiggins was drafted by the Thunder with the 55th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
As a rookie, Wiggins has played in 31 games (18 starts) for the Thunder. He's averaged 7.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in the NBA this season.
Before signing Wiggins, Oklahoma City was more than $23 million shy of the salary floor for the 2021-22 season. The Thunder did not take on any considerable salary at the trade deadline, despite having over $30 million in cap space available.
The Thunder will have a full complement of 15 players on standard deals after signing Wiggins. Oklahoma City will have one Two-Way spot open. The Thunder recently waived Two-Way player Paul Watson and replaced him with Lindy Waters III.
The Oklahoma City Thunder has waived forward KZ Okpala.
Okpala was acquired from the Miami Heat on Feb. 9, 2022.
The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed guard Lindy Waters III to a Two-Way Contract.
In a separate transaction, the Thunder has waived forward Paul Watson Jr.
The Miami Heat have acquired a 2026 second round pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for KZ Okpala.
The Heat create a roster space with the trade.
The 2026 will be the lessor of picks between the Thunder, Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers.
According to Marc Stein, Miami and Oklahoma City also amended protections on the 2025 first round pick to the Thunder, which will be unprotected in 2026 if not conveyed.
The Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder have discussed a trade involving Tobias Harris.
The 76ers downplayed the discussions and noted that they are just one of several teams with cap space that have inquired about taking on his salary in exchange for draft picks.
If the 76ers were to trade Harris at this point, they would effectively be giving up on the current season.
Harris is making $35.9 million this season and has two years and $76.9 million left on his deal.
The 76ers would almost certainly need to unload the salary of Harris this coming offseason in order to sign James Harden outright.
Oklahoma City Thunder rookie big man Jeremiah Robinson-Earl suffered a third metatarsal fracture in his right foot. Robinson-Earl will miss at least six weeks before being re-evaluated.
As a rookie, Robinson-Earl has started in 36 of the 44 games he's played. He's averaged 7.1 points and 5.8 rebounds in 23 minutes per contest.
