The San Antoino Spurs will not grant Manu Ginobili permission to play in the World Cup of Basketball for Argentina.

Ginobili is recovering from a stress fracture.

Matt Bonner has agreed upon a one-year contract with the San Antonio Spurs for the league-minimum, a source tells RealGM.

Bonner joined the Spurs in 2006 and has been a useful floor stretching big.

Pau Gasol and the Chicago Bulls are working toward completing an agreement.

Gasol had narrowed his choices to the Bulls and San Antonio Spurs.

If Gasol agrees to a deal with the Bulls, they would essentially be taken out of consideration for Carmelo Anthony.

Carlos Boozer is expected to be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in a sign-and-trade for Gasol.

The Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs are the leading contenders to sign Pau Gasol.

Gasol is giving strong consideration to signing with the Spurs despite their limited cap situation in case the Bulls can't agree upon a sign-and-trade deal involving Carlos Boozer.

The Los Angeles Lakers are reluctant to take on the contract of Boozer unless they receive an asset back from the Bulls.

Free agent Anthony Tolliver has been in substantial conversations with six NBA teams – including the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers – as a stretch-forward addition, league sources told RealGM.

Tolliver has also received interest from the Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, San Antonio Spurs and Charlotte Hornets among other organizations, sources said, and teams expect a possible signing next week.

For a playoff team in Charlotte, Tolliver averaged 6.1 points and 2.6 rebounds while shooting 41.3 percent from three-point range. He developed a strong relationship with coach Steve Clifford and a leadership role within the Hornets’ locker room.

Tolliver, 29, has averaged 6.1 points and 3.7 rebounds over six NBA seasons with the Spurs, Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks and Hornets. After four collegiate years at Creighton, Tolliver broke into the NBA through the Development League, solidified a niche as a shooter and earned a position in the players’ union.

Tolliver once scored 12.3 points and grabbed 7.3 rebounds per game for the Warriors in 2009-10.

Gregg Popovich has agreed upon a contract extension with the San Antonio Spurs.

Popovich is expected to coach another four to five seasons.

Popovich has won five titles as head coach of the Spurs.

The Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder have emerged as the favorites to sign Pau Gasol.

Gasol is also considering re-signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, while the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs are additional possibilities. 

Boris Diaw has agreed to a three-year, $22 million contract with the San Antonio Spurs, according to sources.

Diaw is guaranteed $15.5 million over the first two years of the deal, sources said. The third season is partially guaranteed.

The Spurs plan to continue to pursue Pau Gasol with their midlevel exception.

Marvin Williams is solidly in line to reach a contract agreement after the top free agents sign.

Williams is receiving interest from the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns.

Williams averaged 9.1 points for the Utah Jazz last season.

The San Antonio Spurs and Patty Mills have agreed upon a three-year contract.

Mills became a key rotation player for the Spurs this past season.

Mills will be out for several months with shoulder surgery, but is expected to be back by January.
