E.J. Singler Agrees To Sign With Raptors

Aug 24, 2016 3:32 PM

The Toronto Raptors have agreed to terms with E.J. Singler.

Singler will be in training camp with the Raptors with a chance to compete for the 15th spot on the roster.

Singler has agreed to play for the Raptors 905 of the D-League if he clears waivers assuming he doesn't make their regular season roster.

“I have no idea what I’m gonna do. Gonna try to play as best I can in the Summer League and that’ll probably dictate where I go next year,” Singler told Raptors Republic in July. “That’s the hardest decision. There’s definitely pros and cons playing in the D-League, or there’s pros and cons playing overseas. Those are the things you’ve gotta weigh out with your family, yourself, and your agent. For me, personally, I’ve gotta give my best opportunity in the Summer League and things will work out for the best.”

DeMar DeRozan To 'Play Like He's Still Playing For Contract'

Aug 3, 2016 11:02 AM

DeMar DeRozan will have a 66 percent increase in salary this season with his new deal with the Toronto Raptors.

“Honestly, I haven’t looked at it like [that]. It’s crazy when you do say it. But I’m going to go out there and play like I’m still playing for a contract,” DeRozan.

DeRozan didn't have to test the market to get his deal.

“Knowing what you felt comfortable with, what made you happy, where you want to play, I just wanted to get it over with, in a sense, just get it out of the way,” DeRozan told The Vertical of how he handled the free-agency process. “Them wanting to get it done before anybody had a chance to talk to me says a lot.”

Delon Wright Undergoes Shoulder Surgery, Out Four Months

Aug 1, 2016 1:06 PM

The Toronto Raptors announced Monday guard Delon Wright underwent arthroscopic shoulder stabilization to fix a labral tear in his right shoulder. The procedure was performed by Dr. Riley Williams at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Wright is expected to be sidelined a minimum of four months.

Wright sustained the injury July 16 in the fourth quarter of a Las Vegas Summer League game versus Minnesota. X-rays taken on-site at Thomas & Mack Center were negative for a fracture and his dislocated shoulder was put back in place. Additional testing revealed a torn labrum.

Wright, the 20th overall pick by the Raptors in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft, averaged 3.8 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 8.5 minutes in 27 appearances last season. He had a season-best 19 points in 26 minutes in an April 8 victory versus Indiana. Wright also appeared in 15 games with Toronto’s D-League affiliate, Raptors 905, where he averaged 17.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 35.7 minutes.
