Cooley signed his most recent 10-day contract with the Jazz on March 16 and has appeared in six Jazz games, averaging 1.7 points in 4.3 minutes per contest.
The Utah Jazz have acquired the Idaho Stampede, becoming the eighth NBA team to fully own and operate its own NBA D-League team. The Stampede has also signed a one-year contract extension with the downtown arena and will continue to play in Boise, Idaho, for the 2015-16 NBA D-League season. Per team policy, financial terms were not released.
“Our purchase of an NBA D-League team reflects the value we place on having an exclusive affiliate for player development and building the scope of our basketball operations to support the Jazz,” said Randy Rigby, Jazz president. “It is a tremendous commitment from the Miller family to make this acquisition that will contribute to our pursuit of becoming a championship-caliber team.”
The Jazz is the eighth NBA team to own an NBA D-League franchise, joining the Cleveland Cavaliers (Canton Charge), Golden State Warriors (Santa Cruz Warriors), Los Angeles Lakers (L.A. D-Fenders), New York Knicks (Westchester Knicks), Oklahoma City Thunder (Oklahoma City Blue), Philadelphia 76ers (Delaware 87ers) and San Antonio Spurs (Austin Spurs).
The Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz are showing interest in the possible call up of Eric Griffin of Texas in the NBA D-League, league sources told RealGM.
Griffin — one of the D-League’s best wing prospects — has averaged 17.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per night in 39 games for the Texas Legends. He joined Dallas’ affiliate after signing an offseason deal to training camp with the Mavericks.
Griffin was a starter in February’s D-League All-Star game, and met with the Clippers during the weekend in New York.
The 6-foot-8 forward played for the Miami Heat in the 2013 preseason, showcasing an elite jumping ability by jumping over the 6-foot-10 Mason Plumlee in an exhibition game.
Out of Campbell in the 2012 NBA Draft, Griffin, 24, has also played professionally in Italy, Venezuela and Puerto Rico.
The Utah Jazz and Bryce Cotton are progressing in discussions on a deal for the remainder of the season, league sources tell RealGM.

Cotton has appeared in three games for the Jazz.

Cotton signed his first 10-day with the Jazz on Feb. 24 and has appeared in one Jazz game, posting three points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in seven minutes in a win at Denver on Feb. 27.
When the Jazz signed him from the NBA Development League’s Austin Spurs, Cotton (6-1, 165, Providence) was averaging 22.4 points (third in the D-League), 4.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.3 steals in 40.5 minutes in 34 games (all starts). He scored in double figures on 31 occasions and recorded 20-plus points in 20 games.
The Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors reportedly had serious discussions at the deadline on a trade involving David Lee.
The Warriors are considering moving the final year of Lee's contract due to cap concerns and his reduced role following the emergence of Draymond Green.
The Warriors and Jazz agreed upon a cap saving trade in 2013 when Utah took on the contracts of Andris Biedrins, Richard Jefferson and Brandon Rush.
