The Boston Celtics will hire Ronald Nored in a player development role.

Nored played collegiately at Butler and was briefly an assistant coach at South Alabama.

Nored will have a role with the Celtics' D-League team.

Colton Iverson has signed a two-year contract with Turkish club Besitkas.

Iverson was drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 53d pick of last month’s draft.

The Celtics still own the rights to Iverson, who averaged 5 points and 5.4 rebounds in five games at the Las Vegas summer league.

Phil Pressey and the Boston Celtics have agreed upon a multi-year contract.

Pressey went undrafted last month out of Missouri.

Jason Kidd spoke with Paul Pierce about coming to the Brooklyn Nets before taking the job as head coach.

Pierce talked about the process of how he convinced Kevin Garnett to approve a trade from the Boston Celtics to the Nets.

“It was a situation where [the Celtics] were going to make a move, and once the deal with the Clippers didn’t go through for [Garnett], it was like, the Celtics were trading me, Doc (Rivers) was leaving, so what was left for Kevin?” explained Pierce. “I talked to Jason Kidd, and he was warming me to the fact of coming to Brooklyn, then he started warming me to the fact that they were trying to get Kevin, too. 

“That’s when I called Kevin and asked him what he thought about coming to Brooklyn, he immediately said, ‘Well, what pieces are they going to give up? Who is going to be left? Is it going to be possible for us to win a championship?’ He was excited when I talked to him after warming him up, just to have the opportunity to come and win a championship and be alongside a young prospect like Brook Lopez, who he can try to take to the next level. And once I warmed him up to that, he was all in for it.” 

The Boston Celtics acquired a $10.3 million trade exception in their trade of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to the Brooklyn Nets.

The Celtics will have 365 days to use to the traded player exception.

The Boston Celtics have waived Kris Joseph.

Joseph appeared in 10 games last season split between the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets.

Joseph was acquired by the Celtics in a trade with the Nets.

The Detroit Pistons offered Brandon Knight and an expiring contract to the Boston Celtics for Rajon Rondo.

The Celtics would seek Andre Drummond, who the Pistons will not give up in a trade for Rondo.

The Pistons want to evaluate the frontcourt of Drummond, Greg Monroe and Josh Smith before making any major decisions about their future.

The Boston Celtics have agreed to sign Vitor Faverani on a three-year deal.

Faverani is a Brazilian center that played for Valencia Basket of Spain last season.

Ron Adams is drawing interest to become an assistant coach with the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets.

The Bulls didn't renew Adams' contract for the 13-14 season.

Adams had been the top assistant of Tom Thibodeau.

The Boston Celtics could be looking to trade Gerald Wallace and Kris Humphries, according to a report.

The Celtics currently have more than the maximum-allowed 15 players on their roster, thus the possibility of trades.

Humphries has one year and $12 million left on his contract; Wallace has three years and $30 million left on his deal.
