Harrison Barnes turned down a contract extension with the Golden State Warriors worth $16 million per season.

Barnes is just 23 and can play multiple positions though he hasn't proven himself capable of scoring at the type of level one assumes you are getting with a contract that significant.

“It just may not be in the cards for me to create more here,” Barnes says, “but I can do it, and maybe this season there will be more opportunities.”

Barnes uses only about 15 percent of Golden State's possessions.

“His versatility is what the league is all about now,” Kerr said.

Andre Iguodala recently returned from a trip to Germany where he underwent healing injections in his knee.

Iguodala believes he is already seeing positive effects.

“My knees feel really good,” Iguodala said. “I’ve been dunking a lot lately, which I normally don’t do in the offseason.”

The Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns attempted to hire Steve Nash in a similar position in which he joined the Golden State Warriors following his acceptance of their offer.

Nash finished his career with the Lakers and spent the majority of his career with the Suns.

Nash joined the Warriors as a player development consultant.

Steve Nash confirmed he will join the Golden State Warriors as a part-time player development consultant.

Stephen Curry grew up following Nash's career and in part modeled his game after him.

"As I've told Steph, his skill level is so high that although we'll be on the court together, I don't know how much I can help him on the court," said Nash. "But through watching a little bit of film and talking, maybe I can help him with situations. But his skill level is incredible, and hopefully I'll learn as much from him as he will from me."

Ben Gordon and the Golden State Warriors are close to agreement on a camp deal with a shot for him to make their regular season roster.

Gordon spent last season with the Orlando Magic.

Gordon would give the Warriors another perimeter shooter off the bench.

Jason Richardson has announced his retirement from the NBA after 14 seasons.

Tony Mitchell has agreed to a free agent deal with the Golden State Warriors.

Mitchell was the 37th overall pick in 2013 by the Detroit Pistons.

Mitchell played in the D-League last season, as well as in Puerto Rico.

Barnes will become a restricted free agent in the 2016 offseason if the two sides are unable to agree upon a deal by Oct. 31.

Barnes' annual offer is comparable to the one signed by Draymond Green.

Barnes' previous agent, Jeff Wechsler, had negotiated the current terms but he's now represented by Jeff Schwartz.

The Golden State Warriors have yet to waive Chris Babb, who was acquired from the Boston Celtics in the David Lee trade.

The Warriors will give Babb an opportunity to make the team in training camp.

Babb played a key role last season for the Maine Red Claws of the D-League.
