The Clippers had their first full-fledged practice on Tuesday since February 27th.
The rare practice time allowed the team to run a few drills and to go over many of their players.
Teams have been unable to practice with any degree of frequency due to the condensed schedule.
Vinny Del Negro received the backing from Donald Sterling and Neil Olshey this week and is likely to at least finish out the season as head coach of the Clippers.
"It didn't need to be done but it is appreciated," Del Negro said. "It's a difficult situation. People start talking even though it's not the reality of the situation; it becomes a headache. We're trying to build something special here and do it the right way and when you lose games, you're going to be questioned on things. That's just part of it."
A Twitter report from Bill Simmons that Del Negro had lost control of his team and that he could be fired at any point.
Simmons also reports that Robert Pack would be the choice of Sterling's staff to assume interim duties should Del Negro be fired.
Blake Griffin delivered a hard foul on Trevor Ariza in Monday's game between the Clippers and Hornets, which was called a flagrant 1 foul.
Griffin was knocked to the ground last week by Jason Smith and he appeared to seek retribution in this return matchup. Smith did not play due to suspension.
"Man, I get fouled 10 times harder than that and they call a regular foul," said Griffin. "That wasn't a flagrant foul. I'm going to appeal that one."
Griffin glared at the Hornets' bench following the foul.
"Yeah, I walked back because they stood up like it was going to be something," Griffin said. "There was nothing, man, and you can publish that."
The Clippers re-signed Bobby Simmons, who came off his second 10-day contract on March 18th.
Simmons has played 13 games for the Clippers this season.
Vinny Del Negro refuted an ESPN report before the game that he had lost his team.
“When you are losing games everyone jumps on you,’’ Del Negro said. “If you can’t take the heat, you shouldn’t do the job.
“You have to win games and that’s what you are measured on. Players are frustrated and I’m frustrated. You are going to get knocked down sometimes, but you have to keep getting up.’’
Vinny Del Negro ripped into his Clippers' team following their 114-91 loss at Oklahoma City on Wednesday, loud enough for the media to hear it through the walls of the arena.
“I’m big into how you approach games and how you compete,” Del Negro said. “We have to get the mentality of we have to play a certain way to win right now.
“And it has to be through our defense because we lack certain things. In order for us to score enough points to take pressure off of us, we have to be able to guard better.
“But our overall approach and everything to the game has to be better. That’s what is disappointing to me. We have to do a better job of being in the moment from the get-go and not waiting to get into the game.”
The Clippers conducted extensive talks with the Rockets about a trade for Courtney Lee.
Lee would have solved the Clippers' desire for a shooting guard.
The Clippers ultimately acquired Nick Young for what was presumably a more affordable price.
Washington will acquire Nene, while JaVale McGee goes to the Nuggets and Nick Young goes to the Clippers in a three-way trade that has been agreed upon.
Brian Cook and a second pick will be sent out by the Clippers.
Ronny Turiaf will also be included to the Nuggets.
The Clippers are shopping Eric Bledsoe in search of a "big guard", according to sources.
Los Angeles has several smaller guards behind Chris Paul in Randy Foye, Mo Williams and Bledsoe, but lack a traditional shooting guard.
