The Washington Wizards have hired Michael Winger as president of Monumental Basketball. Winger will have full leadership of the franchise and also oversee the WNBA Mystics and the G League Go-Go.

Winger was hired away from the Oklahoma City Thunder by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2017 and worked under Lawrence Frank. Before working with the Thunder under Sam Presti, Winger was an executive with the Cleveland Cavaliers under GM Danny Ferry from 2005 to 2010.

Trajan Langdon was also a prominent part in the Wizards' search.

Clippers general manager Michael Winger interviewed for the Washington Wizards' president of basketball operations position, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Winger and Trajan Langdon have interviewed with Wizards owner Ted Leonsis thus far.

The Wizards parted ways with Tommy Sheppard in April. 

The Los Angeles Clippers met with representatives of Tyronn Lue to discuss his future with the franchise this week, sources tell Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.

Lue has been a target of the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns.

Lue has two years remaining on his five-year, $35 million deal signed with the Clippers in 2020. The value of his current contract is similar to the one he signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Haynes reports that Lue would want a brand new contract, presumably with an immediate raise, rather than an extension off his current number if he were to commit long-term to the Clippers. 

ESPN's Zach Lowe reports the Clippers have no intention of letting Lue leave for another job.

Tyronn Lue has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers. However, the Los AngelesClippers love Lue and have no intention of letting him go, sources tell Zach Lowe of ESPN.

The Clippers have reportedly been happy to remind teams that have put out feelers that Lue is under contract with the Clippers. That makes it basically a no-go that the team would entertain letting Lue leave for another opportunity.

The Clippers hired Lue in 2020 to replace Doc Rivers and he guided them to the Western Conference Finals in 2021.

The Phoenix Suns would have Tyronn Lue as their No. 1 head coaching candidate should he become available this offseason, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic. 

Lue's future with the Clippers has been the subject of speculation.

Nick Nurse is another candidate that interests the Suns. 

The Suns are expected to have an expansive search with as many as six to seven candidates.

Lue's future with the Clippers has had some level of uncertainty.

If Lue becomes available, the Phoenix Suns would have him as their No. 1 target now that they've parted ways with Monty Williams.

Lue was elevated from assistant coach to the head coaching position with the Clippers after the 19-20 season when they parted ways with Doc Rivers. Lue previously won a championship in 2016 with the Cleveland Cavaliers. 

Monty Williams and Tyronn Lue are on the radar of the Milwaukee Bucks as they continue their head coaching search, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.

Both Williams and Lue are under contract, but there is some uncertainty with each of their situations.

The original deal Williams signed with the Suns in 2019 concludes in 23-24, but his more expensive extension kicks in for 24-25 and beyond.

“It’s hard for me to even see past today,” Williams told reporters after the Phoenix Suns were eliminated in the second round. “I’ll go in there and talk to the coaches, and we will re-evaluate as we go forward.”
