Bucks Could Move Sessions To Bench

Mar 24, 2009 4:09 PM

Ramon Sessions, who excelled when first moved into the starting lineup, could move to Milwaukee's bench because of his recent play.

Sessions shot just 10 for 33 in the final four games of the team's recent home stand, and committed seven turnovers on Saturday night against Portland.

"It's a maturation process," coach Scott Skiles said of Sessions' recent woes. "There finally becomes a book on you. You've played enough that people know what you do.

"They take it away from you, and you've got to make adjustments accordingly."

Skiles admitted that he has considered shuffling the lineup around, but point guard Luke Ridnour has struggled as well.

"We're considering everything right now," Skiles said, "not because anybody in the lineup deserves to come out, or for that matter, anybody off the bench necessarily deserves to start. Sometimes just changing the rotations can help."

Road Players Perform Best In Milwaukee?

Mar 23, 2009 5:19 PM

Since 1991, a visiting player has scored 46 or more points on 115 occasions in the NBA. Amazingly, 11 of those occurrences took place at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

Madison Square Garden, home of the Knicks, was second on the list put together by the Wall Street Journal with nine such performances.

Kobe Bryant owns 16 of those 115 road scoring outbursts, the most of any NBA player.

Skiles Forbids Villanueva From 'Tweeting'

Mar 18, 2009 9:58 AM

Bucks coach Scott Skiles has called out Charlie Villanueva for posting on his Twitter account during halftime of Sunday's game against the Celtics.

"We made a point to Charlie and the team that it's nothing we ever want to happen again," Skiles said after practice Tuesday. "You know, (we) don't want to blow it out of proportion. But anything that gives the impression that we're not serious and focused at all times is not the correct way we want to go about our business."

Villanueva posted the following message on his account during halftime of the game:

"In da locker room, snuck to post my twitt. We're playing the Celtics, tie ball game at da half. Coach wants more toughness. I gotta step up."

Villanueva didn't think it was an issue at the time, but understands why Skiles would be upset.

"That wasn't the case at all, because I was very into the game -- as you can tell, the way I played," Villanueva said of being distracted. "But you can interpret it two different ways. You can look at it like, 'OK, he's definitely going to step up' versus, 'Oh, he's really not into the game, he's not paying attention.' But that wasn't the case at all. That wasn't my intention at all."

Villanueva Scolded For Halftime Twittering

Mar 18, 2009 4:39 AM

Charlie Villaneuva got a talking to from head coach Scott Skiles after Skiles was informed that his forward was posting messages via Twitter from his mobile phone at half time of the Bucks' game against Boston, the Associated Press is reporting.

"We made a point to Charlie and the team that it's nothing we ever want to happen again," Skiles said after practice Tuesday. "You know, [we] don't want to blow it out of proportion. But anything that gives the impression that we're not serious and focused at all times is not the correct way we want to go about our business."

Using the screen name "CV31" -- Villanueva's initials and jersey number -- Villanueva posted the following message during halftime Sunday:

"In da locker room, snuck to post my twitt. We're playing the Celtics, tie ball game at da half. Coach wants more toughness. I gotta step up."

Jefferson Finally Getting Comfortable In Milwaukee

Mar 13, 2009 1:16 AM

Richard Jefferson has finally begun to settle in as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks.

"I think I have gotten more and more comfortable," said Jefferson.  "If I start next season the way I'm playing right now, I think I'd probably be in a much happier place. But that all comes from being in a system and being used to new teammates. I played with pretty much one point guard for seven years, so getting used to Ramon (Sessions), getting used to Luke (Ridnour), and them getting used to me.

"We're getting used to playing with each other and getting used to Coach and the system and understanding where things are coming and anticipating it."

Nets Passed On Deal For Ridnour, Alexander

Mar 4, 2009 4:46 PM

The Nets could have acquired guard Luke Ridnour from the Bucks prior to the Feb. 19 trade deadline, but opted not to for financial reasons.

New Jersey would have landed Ridnour and rookie forward Joe Alexander for Maurice Ager and Stromile Swift in the proposed deal.

The deal appears to have been a no-brainer for the Nets, but would have added $9 million in salary next season. Both Swift, who was waived, and Ager have expiring contracts.

Milwaukee was willing to swing the deal so they could save money to re-sign Charlie Villanueva and Ramon Sessions.
