Dorell Wright Hits Nine Three-Pointers In Win

Nov 28, 2010 11:27 AM

Dorell Wright scored a career-high 30 points and drilled nine three-pointers to lead the Warriors to a 104-94 victory over the Timberwolves on Saturday night.

The win snapped Golden State's five-game losing streak.

"It's been 10 times better than what I thought it would be," said Wright, who signed with the Warriors this past offseason.

"I'm enjoying myself. We've struggled the past few games, but I think we're going to get back on the right track when we get everybody healthy."

Wright hit four 3-pointers during a three-and-a-half minute-stretch of the third quarter to help the Warriors take control.

David Lee Cleared To Rejoin Team

Nov 27, 2010 3:59 PM

Warriors forward David Lee has been cleared to rejoin the team and will be a game-time decision for Saturday night's game against the Timberwolves.

"We'll look forward to seeing him and that happy face and the personality he brings to this team," Golden State coach Keith Smart said.

Lee initially had surgery Nov. 12, two days after he cut the inside of his left elbow on the mouth of New York's Wilson Chandler.

A fragment of Chandler's tooth stayed in Lee's arm. After Lee's elbow swelled and bled, he was given antibiotics in an emergency room and needed more surgery.

The Warriors are making forward Brandan Wright available via trade, according to ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

Stein cites NBA "front-office sources" in the report.

Golden State drafted Wright with the eighth overall pick back in 2007. He's only played in 77 games in his first three NBA seasons largely due to troubling shoulder injuries.

Nov 20, 2010 5:50 PM

Warriors forward Louis Amundson plans to return to the court on Dec. 7, which also happens to be his 28th birthday.

"That was my goal originally, to get back on my birthday," Amundson said.

"That's kind of my goal. We'll see. It depends on what the doctor says and what the physical therapist says."

Monday will mark five weeks after he had surgery to repair the dislocation and fracture of a finger that he sustained in a preseason game at Portland on Oct. 16.

He was expected to be out six to eight weeks at the time of the surgery.

Kirk Lacob, who graduated from Stanford in June, was named the Warriors' director of basketball operations.

"Is this a good thing to do? It's a complicated question," Joe Lacob said in response to questions of nepotism. "But I intend to be in this business for a long time, and I intend to have him involved if he wants to be involved."

David Lee Undergoes Second Elbow Procedure

Nov 17, 2010 8:08 AM

Warriors forward David Lee had his second surgical procedure to flush out an infection in his left elbow Monday.

Lee got a puncture wound from Wilson Chandler's tooth in the third quarter of Golden State's win over the Knicks last Wednesday.

"We tend to underestimate it, but those are just bad wounds," Dr. Bill Maloney said. "A mouth is so dirty that when there's a puncture wound, it often ends up just like this. We see them most typically on a Saturday night in the ER when somebody gets into a bar brawl."

Maloney said the infection may have to be washed out four or five times.

"Everybody wants him to get better and go back and play quickly, but the mistake we're trying to avoid is letting him get back too soon and letting it get stirred up again," Maloney said. "I would like to see the tissue return to its normal appearance, the wound to be completely healed and for him to have normal elbow function."
