Gregg Popovich said the San Antonio Spurs will review the post-deadline list of bought-out free agents, but added that a move remains unlikely due to roster constraints.

The Spurs have the maximum 15 players on their roster.

“We always look at everything, sure,” Popovich said. ‘You have to do your work. I don’t think anything is going to come of it.”

Popovich said there is an advantage to having a set roster.

“It saves time and lets us concentrate on other things, that’s for sure,” he said. “We don’t have to spend time teaching the system to people who haven’t been here. That’s really time consuming, so we don’t have to do that now.”

Howard said Friday night that what Smith had told everyone "just never happened."

So Blake (Griffin) and I are confused, but he keeps saying Blake, so Blake takes off his jersey and goes into the game. "Pop sees me and wants to know why I'm not in the game running the play, so I tell him he kept saying Blake so Blake went in. He wasn't swearing at me."

DeJuan Blair has been on the San Antonio Spurs' trading block for the past year, and he and his agent expected the forward to be traded by Thursday's deadline.

Ultimately, the Spurs could not find a suitable deal for Blair and kept him -- which was disappointing for Blair's camp.

"Obviously I am disappointed that we were not able to get a trade done but I trust Pop and RC and I know they tried their best and have DeJuan and the Spurs best interests at heart," agent Happy Walters said. "When Pop needs Dejuan, he'll be ready to contribute as he always has been."

The Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and New York Knicks are scheduled to pay the luxury tax this season.

The Bulls have never previously paid the luxury tax and were unable to shed salary at the deadline.

The Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs are less than $1 million away from the tax threshold.

The Warriors traded away Jeremy Tyler and Charles Jenkins on Thursday to get under the tax. Golden State has never paid the luxury tax in franchise history.

The Lakers will have the largest luxury tax bill, as they currently are nearly $30 million over the threshold, while the Celtics are over by less than $1 million.

DeJuan Blair will likely "stay put" with the San Antonio Spurs after being rumored in trade talks throughout the season.

Blair will be a free agent in the summer and had been deemed an asset the Spurs could trade.

Blair is averaging 5.3 points and 3.8 rebounds this season.

Hawks general manager Danny Ferry previously spent time with the Spurs.

DeJuan Blair has been a subject of trade rumors since the offseason.

The Spurs offered Blair to the Pistons in a trade, according to reporting from ESPN's Chris Broussard.

The Boston Celtics, Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers are also teams that could be interested in Blair.

Blair has fallen out of the Spurs' regular big man rotation.
