Price Still Dealing With Toe Injury

Nov 29, 2009 5:09 PM

Jazz guard Ronnie Price has been out for nearly three weeks with a toe/foot injury.

"I'm able to jog now, which is a huge night-and-day thing from what I was able to do before," Price said on Saturday. "It's not going fast enough for me, but it is moving."

Price said his injury is actually underneath his big left toe, and not to the toe itself.

"Every time I walk or plant, I touch it," he said. "That's why it's been kind of a pain, because I do feel it when I walk."

Price is averaging 3.4 points and 1.9 assists per game this season.

Kirilenko, Millsap Leave Win With Injuries

Nov 29, 2009 10:57 AM

Andrei Kirilenko and Paul Millsap left Utah's win over Portland on Saturday night with injuries.

After hitting his first three shots, Kirilenko felt a twinge in his lower back. Meanwhile, Millsap banged knees with a Portland player.

Both of the incidents occurred in the first half and neither player returned in the second.

Kirilenko was officially diagnosed with a mild-to-moderate lower back strain and Millsap with a bruised left knee.

X-rays on Millsap's knee after the game didn't reveal any damage.

"I was going to (return), but the intensity out there was too high," he said. "I didn't want to risk getting hit again. Normally I would probably try to get out there. Not saying I'm soft or anything. I wanted to get out there. I love the game of basketball and I just wanted to play."

Kirilenko says he's "used" to this type of pain. His back flared up at times last season.

Boozer Feels Like 'An All-Star' Again

Nov 28, 2009 5:06 PM

Jazz forward Carlos Boozer has played tremendously in the team's last seven games.

Utah is 5-2 over that stretch and Boozer is averaging 23.6 points and 10.7 rebounds while shooting 59.6 percent.

"A hundred percent," Boozer said when asked if he was focused on being an All-Star again. "I feel like I'm an All-Star when I'm playing at the level I can play at when I'm healthy and it was one of my goals, to get back to the elite level."

He also admitted that he was pressing at the beginning of the season.

For me, I calmed down, relaxed," Boozer said. "I think it was the San Antonio game [Nov. 5, 27 points, 14 rebounds], I just chilled out and relaxed and ever since then, I've just took off."

Korver's Return Pushed Back

Nov 27, 2009 4:41 PM

Jazz sharpshooter Kyle Korver's return to the court has been pushed back.

Prior to this season, Korver had never missed more than eight games in a campaign. He underwent arthroscopic surgery Oct. 28 to remove a bone spur in his knee.

He had hoped to return within the next week.

"It's frustrating because I wanted to be back before then," Korver said.

"It's been a while since I had really gotten after it. I think that's why it's taking a little longer than I thought."

Jazz Ready For First Thanksgiving Game Since 1978

Nov 26, 2009 9:26 AM

The Jazz will play on Thanksgiving Day for the first time since 1978.

The Jazz have typically requested home games on the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas in order to give their fans coming home for the holiday a chance to see the team play.

"We thought, you know what, the positive thing is people eat Thanksgiving early enough, and what do you then do Thanksgiving night?" Jazz president Randy Rigby said. "So we thought with it being a late game that really people would enjoy having something to do."

Utah will host the Chicago Bulls in a game televised on TNT.

RealGM Note: Matt Harpring is the only member of the Jazz roster who was alive in 1978.
