Suns Have Tried To Trade For Damian Lillard, Kemba Walker, Terry Rozier

Aug 31, 2018 3:59 PM

The Phoenix Suns have been active in attempting to trade for an established point guard.

According to John Gambadoro, the Suns have made inquiries on Damian Lillard, Kemba Walker and Terry Rozier.

Walker and Rozier both project to be free agents in 2019. Rozier's future is likely tied to what Kyrie Irving decides to do in his own free agency with the Boston Celtics.

The Suns traded away Brandon Knight this week in a deal for Ryan Anderson.

Woj: Celtics Remain Favorites To Re-Sign Kyrie Irving Over Rest Of Field

Aug 29, 2018 3:37 PM

Kyrie Irving was traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Boston Celtics last offseason.

While Irving's first season seemed to go well outside of his season-ending injury, there has been speculation that he might not re-sign in 2019.

“I still would take Boston against the rest of the field," said Adrian Wojnarowski. "I would for this reason: I still think in the end there comes a moment of truth when you look around, and you have to make a decision about somewhere else. And when you really start inspecting the questions that are in almost any other circumstance he'd go to, you would say: ‘Boy, it’s pretty good here.’ …"

Wojnarowski spoke about the possibility of Irving going to the Knicks and his belief that a top player will sign with that franchise.

"I still think Boston is in position from top to bottom. If he's healthy and that team achieve, I still think it's going to be really hard to walk away from this.”

Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward To Begin Playing 5-On-5 Next Week

Aug 27, 2018 10:07 PM

Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward are expected to join their Boston Celtics' teammates in informal workouts in advance of training camp.

Irving and Hayward have been rehabbing this summer from follow-up procedures on their injuries.

Danny Ainge told ESPN on Monday that both Irving (knee) and Hayward (ankle) appear at full health and are ready for the new season.

"I don't want to hype it up too much, but I'm saying that if our training camp were starting today that they would be here today going full speed," Ainge said. "It's not like they need an extra month. I think that they know they have an extra month, so they are sort of pacing themselves. They're playing as if to build up to that opening day of training camp [Sept. 26]."

The Celtics were one win away from The Finals without Irving and Hayward.

"They'll both be here within the next week or so; by the time Labor Day is over, they will all be playing 5-on-5," Ainge said of Irving and Hayward. "I think it's just a matter of, if they're not playing 5-on-5 now, then it's only because they want it more of a controlled environment, I guess. They're doing everything -- dunking the basketball off both legs and playing one-on-one live and jumping and cutting and defending. I'm excited for them."

Jaylen Brown Guarantees Celtics Will Reach 2019 NBA Finals

Aug 9, 2018 9:45 AM

Jaylen Brown is guaranteeing the Boston Celtics will reach The Finals this year.

The Celtics were one win away from The Finals last year before losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7.

"Oh, we're getting to the Finals. No question about it," Brown said on CJ McCollum's "Pull Up" podcast.

Brown rejected the suggestion that the Celtics will advance because of LeBron James' departure from the conference.

"I hate how everybody is like, 'Oh, LeBron's gone in the East,'" Brown said. "I know he did have a strong hold on the East for the last seven years, but he barely got us out of there this year. And our mindset was like, 'Man, he's not beating us again.'"
