Mavericks To Pursue DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus Cousins, Julius Randle

May 21, 2018 11:41 AM

The Dallas Mavericks are expected to pursue DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus Cousins and Julius Randle in free agency.

Jordan and Randle are natives of Texas.

Jordan agreed to sign with the Mavericks in 2015 before ultimately changing his mind to re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Cousins was widely expected to re-sign with the New Orleans Pelicans until he ruptured his Achilles and the team continued to play well without him. The Mavericks have an extensive history of working with Cousins' agent Jarinn Akana.

Kings, Hawks Could Pass On Luka Doncic

May 20, 2018 7:07 PM

There is a growing belief that both the Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks are prepared to pass on Luka Doncic if he is available to them at No. 2 and No. 3.

The Phoenix Suns are expected to take Deandre Ayton at No. 1.

Another team could conceivably trade up with the Kings or Hawks to select Doncic, but he could also slide to the Memphis Grizzlies at No. 4 or even the Dallas Mavericks at No. 5.

Doncic struggled at times in the Euroleague Final Four, which was attended by a host of scouts and NBA decision-makers.

Luka Doncic Could Be Drafted Anywhere From First To Fifth

May 18, 2018 6:36 PM

Luka Doncic had 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists in Real Madrid's 92-83 win in the semifinals of the Euroleague Final Four.

Amongst the NBA decision-makers in attendance to watch Doncic were Vlade Divac of the Kings, Robert Sarver and James Jones of the Kings, as well as Donnie Nelson and Tony Ronzone of the Mavericks.

More NBA executives are expected to arrive in Belgrade for the final on Sunday.

Executives said Doncic has a fairly wide potential draft range from No. 1 to as far as No. 5. The Suns will draft first, followed by the Kings at No. 2 and Hawks at No. 3. The Grizzlies will select No. 4 while the Mavericks own the fifth pick.

Because Doncic could remain with Real Madrid, he has an unique amount of leverage to potentially influence which team drafts him.

Mark Cuban Believes Gambling Legalization Will Double Franchise Values

May 15, 2018 4:12 PM

Mark Cuban believes the decision from the United States Supreme Court to allow states to decide whether to legalize sports betting will increase the revenues for sports leagues.

"I think everyone who owns a top four professional sports team just basically saw the value of their team double," Cuban said in a "Squawk Alley" interview. "It can finally become fun to go to a baseball game again.

"It's easy to see how you'll have fun at the stadium, at the arena or while you're watching —whether its online or traditional platform."

Tillman Fertitta is less bullish than Cuban.

"Do I hope Mark is right? Yes, but I don't think that's where it really is," he said Monday on "Power Lunch."

"Remember, there's already a black market … out there and you're not going to be able to go to a game and bet on a game," said Fertitta. "Even though this has been pushed back to the states, there is still going to be a lot of federal regulation."
