Josh Hart was placed in the league's Concussion Protocol following the Portland Trail Blazers' 125-111 win over the Houston Rockets on Friday night.

Hart finished the game with 9 points and 8 rebounds.

Hart must go through a return-to-participation process before coming back to the Blazers lineup. 

Damian Lillard will be reevaluated in one to two weeks with a calf strain.

The Portland Trail Blazers have begun the season 4-1 with Lillard returning to his All-Star form.

Damian Lillard left the Portland Trail Blazers loss to the Miami Heat on Wednesday due to a strained right calf. With over five minutes to go, Lillard felt some tightness in his calf after attempting a shot.

But the Blazers star said he's not worried about the injury.

"It wasn't nothing that I was overly concerned with," Lillard said. "I just know that it wouldn't make sense to try and push through it in the fifth game of the season."

Lillard said if this happened during playoff time, he would have played through the strain. Being early in the season, Lillard won't push things and said it's unlikely he'll play in Portland's game on Friday.

"Now I've just got to be smart, and make sure I'm getting a couple of treatment sessions in each day, and just try to stretch it," Lillard said. "So probably not going to be playing that game on Friday. That will give me six days of maybe two sessions some days, three sessions other days, and try to be ready for that one. We'll see."

Lillard is averaging 33.3 points through the first five games of the season. 

Damian Lillard and Jayson Tatum have been named the NBA's Players of the Week for Week 1.

Lillard averaged 34.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists as the Portland Trail Blazers went 3-0.

Tatum averaged 34.7 points and 8.3 rebounds as the Boston Celtics also went 3-0.

The Portland Trail Blazers have hired BJ Domingo as Director of Player Personnel. 

Domingo hand been assistant director of the men's national team at USA Basketball.

Domingo began his career as a scout with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Portland Trail Blazers are set to sign John Butler to a two-way contract, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Butler spent the summer league and preseason with the Pelicans. 

Nassir Little and the Portland Trail Blazers have agreed to a four-year, $28 million contract extension that is fully guaranteed.

Little underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in January and is expected to start the season in Portland's rotation.

Little was the 25th overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft.

Gary Payton II is set to miss the start of the season and will be re-evaluated in two weeks as he recovers from offseason surgery on a core muscle. 

The Blazers signed Payton to a three-year, $28 million deal in the offseason.
