Shaq On Heat: 'I Love Those Guys'

Nov 28, 2008 5:08 PM

Phoenix center Shaquille O'Neal doesn't have any ill towards Miami, as he prepares to do battle with his former team on Friday night.

"I don't really have any bad feelings," O'Neal said. "I love all those guys down there."

O'Neal claims that harsh comments attributed to him toward team president Pat Riley, the team's medical staff, and even supporting players were all fabrications.

"I understand that business had to be taken care of for him to rebuild and rebuild around D-Wade, and that's the perfect guy to rebuild around," he said. "I understand that. I've been a businessman my whole career."

O'Neal did, however, admit that he hasn't spoken with Riley since the Heat traded him to the Suns last season.

Indiana forward Danny Granger injured his left ankle on a drive to the basket that resulted in an offensive foul on Saturday night.

He went straight to the locker room but returned a little more than two minutes later in the team's loss to Miami.

"I came down on it and twisted it," Granger said afterward. "I rolled it on the inside. It's a sprained ankle, but you have to play through it, especially when it's in the fourth quarter."

Heat rookie forward Michael Beasley was reportedly cited for speeding Monday night when the team visited his hometown Wizards.

Beasley was brought in by police after being cited for traveling at an excessive speed. No other violations were cited, according to a source.

The rookie said he initially turned off his cell phone to avoid old friends while in Washington for the game, but later couldn't fight the urge to turn his phone back on.

"I went back around my neighborhood and hung out with the people that were trying to call. So I kind of defeated the purpose," Beasley admitted.
