Josh Richardson Throws Shoe Multiple Times Before Ejection

Nov 19, 2018 11:17 AM

Josh Richardson threw one of his shoes into the stands before being ejected from Sunday's loss by the Miami Heat to the Los Angeles Lakers.

"I don't want to talk about it. It was a series of events," Richardson explained after the loss. "I got caught up.

"I wasn't really thinking about much," he added. "I was thinking about how frustrated I was. And going forward I can't let that happen."

Richardson hit the floor after he thought he was fouled by Josh Hart on a dunk attempt. As Richardson was on the floor, his shoe came loose and then he flicked it initially right in front of him and then showed it to official Kevin Scott. As play resumed and Richardson was given his fifth personal foul, he threw it against the scorer's table.

When Erik Spoelstra motioned Richardson to head to the bench, Richardson flew his shoe into the stands and he was then given a technical by Scott before ejecting him.

"You saw a competitive will come out," Spoelstra said. "I think probably what you saw more than anything and I agree with Josh -- not throwing his shoe into the stands, that's unacceptable -- but going in for the dunk when there's some contact there and he lost his shoe ... from my angle it looked like there was contact."

Blazers, Pelicans, Lakers, Heat, 76ers Could Have Interest In Carmelo Anthony

Nov 14, 2018 11:19 AM

Carmelo Anthony is expected to leave the Houston Rockets and a number of teams have emerged as potential destinations should he either be traded, waived and claimed, or signed as a free agent.

“I heard three teams I think it can be for Melo, and this could change—I mean, he’s still with Houston—New Orleans, Portland and the L.A. Lakers. Those are the three teams I heard,” said Kevin O'Connor.

Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated previously reported that the Lakers "are done" making any free agent signings in the short-term. Spears reported that the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers could also be interested in Anthony.

Heat Never Returned To Jimmy Butler-Josh Richardson Trade Talks

Nov 12, 2018 11:52 AM

The Miami Heat never returned to Jimmy Butler trade discussions with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Wolves passed on a deal before the season that would have included Josh Richardson.

Richardson has had an excellent start to the 18-19 season, which presumably decreased Miami's motivations to make a trade for Butler.
