Dwyane Wade Unsure If He'll Play Next Season

Feb 27, 2018 2:47 PM

Dwyane Wade is genuinely unsure if he will extend his playing career beyond the current season. If Wade does return, it will only be with the Miami Heat.

“I don’t know,” Wade said. “I have told everybody around me that I am taking it after this season and go from there. It’s the first year I’ve ever went into the summer with that mind-set. I always went into it as a free agent or opting out of a deal to get another deal. This is the first summer I can say I’m just going into the summer and see how I feel and see the position this organization is in and go from there. I’m not really concerned with it, honestly. I’m cool with whatever I decide to do. It will be my decision.”

Wade will have to consider whether he has the desire to play.

“Definitely,” he said. “You definitely have to check that. A lot of things go into it. Do you want to put that same grind in again? As you get older, it’s a different kind of grind to get ready for games, to get your body ready. [And] can you mentally go through another year and give it your all and not be checked out in the middle of that season?

“[Udonis Haslem] always talked about, as you get older, you take it year by year. But this is the first summer that I will go into the summer and say I ain’t got much hair left, but I’m going to let my hair down and look at everything as a whole, my family and basketball. Being back here helps that situation for me, makes the decision even easier since now that I’m back already. And sit down with Pat [Riley] and Micky [Arison] and everybody and see what’s best for me and go from there.”

Dwyane Wade, Pat Riley Mended Relationship At Henry Thomas' Funeral

Feb 9, 2018 9:57 AM

Dwyane Wade and Pat Riley reconnected their frayed relationship at the recent funeral of agent Henry Thomas.

Thomas represented both Wade and Udonis Haslem, along with Chris Bosh, Tim Hardaway and Shaun Livingston.

Thomas was pivotal in the formation of Miami's Big 3 in 2010.

"Hank's still doing his job from above," Haslem said.

Wade is now back with the Heat less than two weeks later.

"The hug that we embraced was real and it was all we needed," Wade said of the brief encounter with Riley at the funeral. "That's it. That's all we both needed. I walked away and I felt better about everything, without even getting into anything."

"For all of you who know me, warriors don't live in the past. Life is now. And the future is waiting," he said on a conference call. "Based on what happened with Dwyane and us the last couple of years, there's no bitterness and no regrets. We've always talked about that. Micky [Arison] is very pro Dwyane. Coach [Erik Spoelstra] is very pro Dwyane. I am. It was a sad day when Dwyane left and it's a beautiful day that he's back."

LeBron James would listen to the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs if they open up a max slot. James would also consider the Miami Heat to a lesser degree. James has the most respect for those three franchises.

James wouldn't rule out the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets, as well as re-signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

James won't consider signing with the Los Angeles Clippers.
