The Philadelphia 76ers hired Roy Hibbert as a player development specialist.

The 32-year-old Hibbert is expected to work with Joel Embiid and Al Horford.

The Sixers also promoted Ruben Boumtje Boumtje to assistant general manager of G League Delaware, with Remy Ndiaye promoted to a player development specialist role and Lorena Torres added as a performance director.

The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Haywood Highsmith. 

Highsmith recently competed in the 2019 NBA G League International Challenge presented by Antel in Montevideo, Uruguay, from Wednesday, Sept. 18-Sunday, Sept. 22. The six-team tournament also included Argentina’s San Lorenzo, Brazil’s Flamengo, Germany’s FC Bayern Munich, Mexico’s Capitanes and Uruguay’s Elite Team. The NBA G League Elite roster finished second in the competition.

Prior to his participation in the G League International Challenge, Highsmith represented the 76ers at MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2019, where he appeared in four games, starting one. He tallied 7.3 points and 5.8 rebounds in 20.5 minutes per contest.

Matisse Thybulle rolled his ankle in a Monday workout, revealed Brett Brown during his annual "Coaching the Coaches" clinic. News of Thybulle's ankle was later confirmed by a Sixers official. 

Thybulle will be examined on Tuesday morning. 

The Sixers traded up to get Thybulle with the 20th pick in last year's draft.
