The Dallas Mavericks have acquired Kelly Olynyk and Derrick Jones from the Miami Heat as part of the Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Ramona Shelburne of ESPN previously reported Goran Dragic would go to the Mavericks. The Mavericks couldn't take back Dragic because they feared losing their flexibility to make additional moves this offseason.

Al Horford has agreed to a four-year, $97 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. The deal also contains $12 million in bonuses tied to championships.

Horford opted out of his $30 million contract with the Boston Celtics and quickly broke off talks on a new deal. The final offer from the Celtics was for four seasons but contained less guaranteed money.

Horford joined the Celtics as a free agent in 2016.

The Miami Heat are finalizing a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers for Jimmy Butler.

The 76ers will acquire Josh Richardson as part of the deal.

Butler wanted to have a team built around him, while the 76ers reportedly were also ready to move on. The 76ers weren't willing to give Butler a five-year max or even a four-year max.

Miami previously tried to acquire Butler last season.

Mike Scott has agreed to a two-year, $9.8 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Scott was part of the 76ers' Tobias Harris trade with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Tobias Harris has agreed to a five-year, $180 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Harris took $10 million less than his max and the deal contains no player options.

The 76ers acquired Harris from the Los Angeles Clippers at the trade deadline.

Jimmy Butler is expected to meet with the Miami Heat on Sunday to open free agency.

Butler will meet with the Houston Rockets later in the week.

Both the Heat and Rockets would need the Philadelphia 76ers to facilitate a sign-and-trade for Butler.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets are also interested in Butler, according to Shams Charania.

Ben Simmons will become extension eligible at the start of free agency.

Sources tell ESPN's Zach Lowe that a max offer from the Philadelphia 76ers could come once free agency starts.

Some have questioned the long-term fit of Simmons with Joel Embiid.

The 76ers must also contend with the free agency of Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris and J.J. Redick.

Simmons is a client of Rich Paul.

The Houston Rockets believe they have a Clint Capela trade in place, but it is conditional on their ability to reach agreement with Jimmy Butler and the Philadelphia 76ers on a sign-and-trade.

The Rockets lack the ability to acquire Butler outright in free agency.

Houston tried to acquire Butler during the early part of the 18-19 season.

The Boston Celtics have previously been linked with Capela.

There are a few surprise bidders for Al Horford in free agency.

While Horford has been linked with the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans, the Sacramento Kings and Philadelphia 76ers are also potentially interested.

The Kings could re-sign Harrison Barnes and also sign Horford.

Philadelphia has several free agents of their own in Tobias Harris, Jimmy Butler and J.J. Redick.

The Philadelphia 76ers would like to re-sign Jimmy Butler, but a source tells Sam Amick of The Athletic it is looking likely they will be willing to cooperate in a sign-and-trade scenario.

The Houston Rockets are aggressively pursuing a sign-and-trade for Butler.

The 76ers want to avoid losing Butler for nothing just a few months after acquiring him for Robert Covington, Dario Saric and a 2022 second round pick.

Philadelphia must also contend with the free agency of Tobias Harris.

The Rockets will need to unload some combination of Clint Capela, Eric Gordon and P.J. Tucker to acquire Butler. Gordin would be a logical fit for the 76ers.
