Trey Burke is confident he will win the Philadelphia 76ers' backup point guard job behind Ben Simmons over Raul Neto.

“I think throughout stretches of the game we [Burke and Simmons] can play together and I can be out there with the starting lineup at times,” Burke said. “That is the competitor in Trey Burke. That is who I am and what I bring to Philadelphia, if you ask me.”

Burke split time last season between the New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks.

Burke also believes he could play some shooting guard beside Simmons.

“I have some experience playing off the ball,” he said. “The short time I was in Dallas, playing with Luka (Doncic), I felt we played really well together in our limited time together, even in New York I played off the ball.”

Burke is on a one-year, $1.8 million deal that is partially guaranteed. 

Spencer Hawes will workout for the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Joe Johnson will also be in the workout for the Sixers. 

The 31-year-old Hawes played for the Lakers G League team last season.

Joe Johnson has received interest from a number of NBA teams as he continues to look good in the Big 3.

Johnson will work out for the Philadelphia 76ers this week and is also expected to work out for the Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets.

The New Orleans Pelicans also have interest in Johnson.

Johnson last played in the NBA in 17-18 with the Houston Rockets.

A.J. English will attend a free agent mini-camp with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to Sportando.

The 27-year-old English averaged 9.1 points in 8 games with GS Lavrio in the Greek Basketball League last season.

The Philadelphia 76ers have hired Roy Hibbert as a player development coach.

Hibbert last played in the NBA in 2017 with the Denver Nuggets and announced his retirement in 2018.

The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Isaiah Miles to an Exhibit 10 deal.

Last season, Miles played for Limoges CSP, a French team competing in Pro A, the top professional league in the country. In 50 games (33 starts), Miles tallied 9.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 22.9 minutes per game. Known as a threat from three-point range, Miles shot .414 from beyond the arc on 3.7 attempts per game. He has also played professionally for Uşak Sportif (Turkey) and JDA Dijon Basket (France).

Miles appeared in four games last month for Orlando in MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2019 and previously played for Philadelphia in summer league competition in both 2017 and 2018.

The Los Angeles Lakers will play the Los Angeles Clippers on Christmas Day, league sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Other games on Christmas include the Rockets at the Warriors, Pelicans at the Nuggets, Celtics at the Raptors, and Bucks at the 76ers.
