Several teams have inquired about potentially trading for Alex Caruso, sources told K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.

Stephen Curry Ejected After Throwing Mouthpiece In Frustration Over Jordan Poole Shot

Jan 26, 2023 10:42 AM

Stephen Curry was ejected in the fourth quarter of the Golden State Warriors' eventual 122-120 win over the Memphis Grizzlies when he threw his mouthpiece after what he thought was an ill-advised three-point attempt.

"It was a crucial time in the game, and the way that our season has gone, questions about a heightened sense of urgency ... when you want something really bad ... I reacted in a way that put myself out of the game and put the team in a tough place," Curry said.

Curry has been ejected three times in his career and all have involved his mouthpiece.

Poole went on to make the game-winning layup.

Bob Myers Seeking Salary Among Highest Paid Execs As Negotiations With Warriors Continue

Jan 25, 2023 10:53 AM

Bob Myers remains without a contract with the Golden State Warriors beyond the current season and there is an increasing reality that he could leave the franchise.

Sources tell The Athletic that Myers believes he should be among the highest paid front office executives in the NBA, if not the highest. According to sources, Myers ranks outside the top-five in executive salaries.

Philadelphia’s Daryl Morey, Toronto’s Masai Ujiri, Miami’s Pat Riley, Minnesota’s Tim Connelly, San Antonio’s R.C. Buford and New York’s Leon Rose are considered by industry experts to be among the highest paid, and likely above Myers, when it comes to annual salary.

Myers has kept all of his past negotiations largely behind the scenes, but his expiring status and perceived obtainability has changed the situation.

The 76ers tried to recruit Myers away from the Warriors in 2018 after Bryan Colangelo was fired.

If Myers were to leave the Warriors this year, the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks are franchises worth monitoring as possibilities, sources say. The Los Angeles Clippers could also be a possibility, according to the recent speculation in front office circles. A source with knowledge of the Clippers' plans pushed back on the possibility of Myers.

While money is a key issue for Myers, it is not the only factor in his calculus.

Steve Kerr Will Continue To Push For 72-Game Season

Jan 21, 2023 7:17 AM

On Thursday night, the Golden State Warriors lost in overtime at the Boston Celtics. In that game, several of the Warriors main players logged high-minutes totals. On the second night of a back-to-back at the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, Golden State coach Steve Kerr sat his best players.

Kerr recognized that's awful for fans who paid to see Stephen Curry and others on their only trip to Cleveland.

“I feel terrible for fans who bought a ticket expecting to see someone play," Kerr said. "It’s a brutal part of the business. It’s why I’m going to continue to advocate for 72-game seasons.”

Kerr has embraced resting his veteran stars when he feels they need a break. In doing so, he's continually said the NBA regular season features too many games. He believes fewer games over the same number of days would result in teams resting players less often.

Anthony Lamb Will Eventually Be Converted By Warriors To Standard Contract

Jan 19, 2023 11:26 AM

The Golden State Warriors are expected to eventually convert Anthony Lamb from a Two-Way contract into a standard NBA deal on their 15-man roster.

The Warriors have an open roster spot and that void will inevitably be filled by someone for the playoffs.

Lamb has already used 36 of his 50 eligible games and is averaging 25.9 minutes per game in January.

Warriors Prioritizing Addition Of Wing Over Extra Big Man

Jan 19, 2023 11:22 AM

The Golden State Warriors have more interest in adding a multi-positional wing than an extra big man, sources tell Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

The Warriors expect to have either Draymond Green or Kevon Looney, or both on the floor during nearly every playoff minute, which decreases the need for depth at the position.

Otto Porter Jr. fit the role of the kind of wing they're looking for last season.

Jalen McDaniels, Darius Bazley, Rui Hachimura and Obi Toppin are players that would be well suited for the role and all are reportedly available, but the price would likely be too steep for the Warriors.

The Warriors may instead have better luck on the buyout market.

Warriors Likely To Keep Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman, Moses Moody Past Deadline

Jan 19, 2023 11:01 AM

The Golden State Warriors are likely to keep Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman and Moses Moody beyond the upcoming trade deadline, sources tell Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

The Warriors are protective of their future at this juncture and aren't in a mode of desperation to maximize the present.

The Warriors are not actively shopping any of that trio. Golden State believes Kuminga will be a playoff rotation contributor, while they don't want to sell-low on Moody or Wiseman.
