We’ve seen a little bit of everything through the first week of the NBA postseason. And if we’ve learned anything, it’s that the Larry O’Brien trophy could be headed anywhere in late June. It’s why risk-free bets that take all the stress out of big-time wagers are so crucial to success. And that’s why the time is right to pounce on the FanDuel bonus code offer. Just click the link, register, place a bet and then relax while you wait to see the outcome. Here’s what you need to know:

Complete your registration with a few short and easy steps and then make a qualifying deposit.

Then you get to the fun part: Find any set of odds in any sports betting market that you want to place a bet on. There are no restrictions, just note that it must be the first wager you place at FanDuel. If you bet $20 on one bet and then immediately place another bet of $900, you’ll only get the $20 bet risk-free. If that bet is a winner, congrats. You’re profitable on your first bet with FanDuel and will be on your way with money in your bankroll.

If that bet loses, that’s where the FanDuel promo code offer comes into play.

Redeeming Your First-Free Bet With FanDuel

Did you lose your first bet with FanDuel? You’re in luck. Using the FanDuel promo code offer means you’ll get the original amount you wagered back to you in the form of a free bet. You’ll have 14 days to use that single bet, which should be easy to accomplish given that there are NBA playoff games every day.

There is just a one-time playthrough requirement on that free bet, and the free bet amount is not included in any winnings. That means if you have a $300 bet and place it on odds of -150, you’d earn $200 total, not $500.

Scottie Barnes Narrowly Wins 2022 NBA Rookie Of The Year Over Evan Mobley

Apr 23, 2022 3:12 PM

Scottie Barnes has been named the 2021-22 NBA Rookie of the Year. He is the third player to win the annual award with Toronto, joining Damon Stoudamire (1995-96) and Vince Carter (1998-99).

Barnes received 378 points (48 first-place votes) from a global panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters.

Evan Mobley finished in second place with 363 points (43 first-place votes).  The 15-point difference between the first- and second-place finishers marks the smallest margin in NBA Rookie of the Year balloting under the current voting format, which began with the 2002-03 season.

Cade Cunningham finished in third place with 153 points (nine first-place votes).  Players were awarded five points for each first-place vote, three points for each second-place vote and one point for each third-place vote.

Barnes averaged 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.08 steals and 0.74 blocks in 35.4 minutes in 74 games, leading all rookies in minutes, ranking third in points and rebounds and finishing fifth in assists, steals and blocks.

Scottie Barnes Ruled Out Of Game 2

Apr 18, 2022 3:45 PM

Scottie Barnes has been ruled out of Game 2 with a left ankle sprain.

Barnes yelled in pain when suffering the injury in Game 1 and thought it would be worse than a sprain.

"I thought it was going to be bad, man," Barnes said. "I hit the ground and I was like, 'Damn. It's just the beginning, just getting started.

"But, afterward, I was just still trying to have positive thoughts, and keep myself into it."

Barnes declined to give a timeline for his return, but said he multiple times he was feeling better each day.

"I don't know," he said with a smile, when asked when he could be back on the court. "Might be soon. We just have to see. Feeling better, though, each and every day."

Nick Nurse Says Scottie Barnes, Gary Trent Jr, Thaddeus Young All Doubtful For Game 2

Apr 17, 2022 2:32 PM

The Toronto Raptors are down 0-1 in their first round series against the Philadelphia 76ers and things don't look like they'll get any easier. Raptors coach Nick Nurse said that Scottie Barnes, Gary Trent Jr., and Thaddeus Young are all doubtful to play in Game 2 at the Sixers.

If all three players miss Game 2, the Raptors will play without two starters and a key reserve.

Barnes and Young were both hurt in Game 1. Barnes suffered a sprained left ankle. X-rays were negative, but Barnes had an MRI done on Sunday. Young suffered a sprained left thumb.

Trent has a non-COVID illness. He's apparently quite sick and unlikely to play in Game 2 on Monday, April 18.

X-Rays Negative For Scottie Barnes, MRI Set For Sunday

Apr 17, 2022 2:32 PM

Toronto Raptors rookie Scottie Barnes suffered a sprained left ankle in his team's Game 1 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. X-rays were negative and Barnes will have an MRI on Sunday to determine the extent of the injury.

Barnes was hurt in the fourth quarter of his debut playoff game. The Rookie of the Year candidate had 15 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, nearly recording the Raptors first playoff triple-double.

The wing was injured while defending the lane against Joel Embiid. Barnes fell and rolled his ankle, while having his left foot stepped on by Embiid. Postgame, Nick Nurse didn't call the play dirty, but was critical of the officials for allowing Embiid to get away with questionable play.

Toronto also lost forward Thaddeus Young to a sprained left thumb during the game. His x-rays were also negative and Young will also have an MRI on Sunday.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Toronto Raptors Odds, NBA Playoff Picks & Predictions

Apr 15, 2022 9:20 AM

Joel Embiid won the NBA scoring title, the first center since Shaquille O’Neal to accomplish that feat. Now he wants to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to postseason success, an elusive feat. Philly hasn’t even made the Eastern Conference Finals in 21 years.

The fourth-seeded Sixers host the No. 5 Toronto Raptors in the best-of-7 series starting on Saturday. Toronto got the better of Philadelphia during the regular season, though James Harden wasn’t on the team for one of those games and Joel Embiid didn’t play in another.

Ahead of Game 1, Bookies.com breaks down the series and makes our NBA picks to back on betting apps.

76ers vs Raptors Betting Tips

Magic Number 5: Toronto bested Philadelphia in three of the four matchups this season, but all four were close. Three of those games were decided by exactly five points, the other by six. The 76ers are -4.5 for Game 1, with online sportsbooks daring bettors to back the road Raptors.

Homecourt Question: Of the 14 teams that advanced to the playoffs without the play-in tournament, the 76ers had the worst against-the-spread mark at home, just 17-24 (41.5%). That is good news for a Raptors team that was 25-15-1 ATS on the road (62.5%) – tied for the best ATS mark in the league.

Pascal Power: Embiid is considered an NBA MVP contender, but Toronto’s Pascal Siakam has mostly outplayed him this season. In three matchups this year, Siakam is averaging 30.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 8.3 assists. Embiid is at 29.0, 11.3 and 2.7.

76ers vs Raptors Series Predictions

The No. 4 Sixers have the homecourt advantage and the edge according to sports betting apps who have installed them as -180 favorites to advance to the second round, Toronto is +150.

There is reason to find value in the Raptors’ NBA odds. They’ve generally outperformed expectations on the road compared to the Sixers at home, James Harden’s playoff stats are lower than his regular season numbers and Siakam has, at worst, negated the power of Embiid.

This is a tougher series to predict than some may believe. That’s why we will steer clear of the series price, but look at the series correct score odds.

Our Pick: Root for a Game 7. You can get Philly in seven games at +320 and Raptors in seven at +600.

76ers vs Raptors Schedule

Game 3: April 20, Philadelphia at Toronto, 8 p.m. ET, NBA TV

Lakers Interested In Nick Nurse For Head Coaching Job

Apr 11, 2022 12:01 PM

The Los Angeles Lakers have identified Nick Nurse as one of their top candidates for the position of head coach, multiple sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Nurse signed a multiyear contract extension with the Toronto Raptors in 2020 and has two years remaining on his deal. It is unclear whether Nurse would have interest in the Lakers or if he would be attainable due to his contract status.

The Lakers would need to receive permission from the Raptors and would likely need to engage them on a prospective trade.

Nurse is a former Coach of the Year and also helped guide the Raptors to the championship in 2020.

Charania also reports that Juwan Howard is another candidate for the job.
