Aaron Gordon Ready To Talk With Rival Teams In Restricted Free Agency

Jun 28, 2018 6:38 PM

Aaron Gordon will be a restricted free agent this offseason and he plans on having discussions with other teams.

“Obviously, I’ve got to talk to other teams,” Gordon said Thursday in a telephone interview with the Orlando Sentinel. “I’ve got to do the due diligence. But we’ll talk to the Magic, and I do believe that they’re going to offer me something fair. And, hopefully, we can go from there. But I have to do the due diligence and see what’s going to be the best fit for myself.”

A max deal for Gordon would begin at $25.3 million in Year 1. If Gordon re-signs with the Magic on a max, it could be worth up to $148 million over five years.

“We’ve worked hard to establish a relationship with Aaron and learn him and he learn us,” Magic President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman told the Sentinel. “And, obviously, a big part of this is just having relationships with his representatives and just having discussions with him as we move forward and start to see if there’s a middle ground that we can reach and strike a deal. And we’re hopeful that we can do that.”

Grizzlies Holding Trade Talks With Multiple Teams On No. 4 Pick

Jun 20, 2018 11:53 PM

The Memphis Grizzlies are holding trade talks with several teams concerning the No. 4 overall pick and Chandler Parsons.

Parsons' contract is considered an albatross due to his ongoing knee issues. Parsons is owed $49.2 million over the next two seasons.

The Grizzlies would like to trade back rather than trading out of the lottery altogether.

The Dallas Mavericks, Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers have each showed varying degrees of interest in a deal.

The Grizzlies are high on Wendell Carter Jr., but he's currently projected to be a top-7 pick.

Mavs, Magic, Nuggets Trying To Move Up To No. 3 To Select Luka Doncic

Jun 20, 2018 7:35 PM

The Atlanta Hawks very well could control the direction of the draft at No. 3 as they zero in on either selecting Luka Doncic, or trading the slot to a team looking to move up to select him.

"Teams know this right now, they have to get to No. 3 to get Luka Doncic," said Adrian Wojnarowski on ESPN's Wednesday evening draft coverage.

"Dallas at No. 5 has been knocking at that door," added Wojnarowski.

The Orlando Magic and even the Denver Nuggets also have interest in trading up for Doncic, according to Wojnarowski.

If the Hawks trade down, they could target Trae Young.

Aaron Gordon, Zach LaVine Could Command Max Offer Sheets In RFA

Jun 8, 2018 7:28 PM

Aaron Gordon and Zach LaVine are expected to be two of the top restricted free agents on the open market this offseason.

The Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls are widely expected to keep Gordon and LaVine respectively.

"I think both teams are aware that they need to go to a max number for them. The question will be are they going to go get a sheet? The sentiment I've gotten from both teams is (that they'll match a max offer sheet)."
