The Philadelphia 76ers have been granted permission to interview Larry Harris, Gersson Rosas and Justin Zanik for their general manager vacancy.

Harris currently works for the Golden State Warriors as assistant general manager. Harris was previously general manager of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Rosas has worked for the Houston Rockets for 18 seasons.

Zanik has worked in the front offices of the Bucks and Utah Jazz after previously serving as a player agent.

Brett Brown is currently interim general manager.

Joel Embiid wrote a first person essay at The Players' Tribune explaining his journey from Cameroon to the NBA.

When Embiid was in high school, he taught himself to shoot by watching a YouTube video following the search of 'WHITE PEOPLE SHOOTING 3 POINTERS.'

"I pretended my way to the NBA," wrote Embiid. "I seriously got to the league by watching YouTube and living in the gym. There’s no other way to explain it. Remember when KG won the title with the Celtics, and he was acting all crazy, screaming out, “ANYTHING IS POSSIBLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Embiid was greatly influenced by Kobe Bryant and Hakeem Olajuwon.

The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Anthony Brown to a training camp deal.

Brown was on a two-way contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves last season.

Brown averaged 18.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 45 games in the G League last season.

The Philadelphia 76ers are identifying new targets to meet and interview for their general manager vacancy but Josh Harris is not ruling out continuing with their interim structure in place for the 18-19 season.

"It does leave open that possibility," Harris told ESPN on Monday. "We prefer to find an elite talent who can lead us, but we aren't going to compromise."

Brett Brown has served as the franchise's interim GM surrounded with front-office executives Ned Cohen, Marc Eversley and Elton Brand. The Sixers promoted Cohen, Eversley and Brand on Monday.

Philadelphia will also promote Alex Rucker (senior VP of analytics and strategy) and move assistant coach Kevin Young onto the front of the bench to replace Jim O'Brien, who will now serve as a senior advisor to Brown.

"We have a skilled and stable staff who share the same vision under Brett," Harris told ESPN. "We prefer to find someone, but we don't want to feel forced into compromising."

The Philadelphia 76ers have hired Lindsey Harding as a full time scout.

Harding was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 WNBA Draft.

"I think when you have this goal in mind, your gender shouldn't even matter," Harding told ESPN. "It should be about if you can do it, if you're good, you're experienced, if you know what you're doing and what you're talking about."

Harding officially retired as a player in 2017.

Harding spent last season in the NBA's Basketball Operations Associates Program. 

Zhaire Smith has suffered a Jones fracture in his left foot and will undergo surgery.

Smith suffered the injury on Monday while training at Tim Grgurich’s developmental camp in Las Vegas.

Smith was the No. 16 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Texas Tech.

Smith is returning to Philadelphia to be further evaluated.

The 76ers used the 16th overall pick on Smith in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The Philadelphia 76ers have signed center Norvel Pelle. 

Pelle most recently represented the 76ers at MGM Resorts Summer League 2018, where he averaged 7.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and a team-leading 1.2 blocks in 13.8 minutes per game across five contests.

The 6-foot-11 center spent the 2017-18 season playing for Auxilium Pallacanestro Torino and Pallacanestro Varese of Italy’s Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). Over the course of 29 games (11 starts), he averaged 6.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 14.6 minutes per game combined between the two teams.
