DeAndre Jordan has made it clear through back channels that he will be extremely interested in coming to play for the Dallas Mavericks, according to sources.

"That's up to management and what they decide to do," Chandler said of his possible future in Dallas.

NBA To Hold Serious Talks On Eliminating Hack-A-Shaq

Apr 24, 2015 9:02 PM

Adam Silver expects the NBA to have "full-throated conversations" in the offseason about implementing rules to eliminate the Hack-a-Shaq strategy.

Silver acknowledged that changing rules is difficult, but that the league must consider whether the Hack-a-Shaq detracts from the game's entertainment value.

"It's something that I'm on the fence about," Silver told ESPN. "My thought used to be that we should definitely change the rule, and then having sat through several general managers meetings, competition meetings and having heard from some of the game's very best, the view is the players should hit their free throws. That's changed my view a little bit.

"Having said that, when I watch some of these games on television, frankly, it's not great entertainment for our fans, and that's important as well. What I've said is we have another general managers meeting coming up in May, we have a competition committee meeting in June, and I'm sure it's going to be a hot topic of discussion. Then, we have an owners meeting in July, so I think at all three of those meetings we're going to be having full-throated conversations about what the right rules should be going forward."

The San Antonio Spurs used the strategy against DeAndre Jordan in Game 2.

"But at the end of the day, it's about the game," Silver said. "I used to run something called NBA Entertainment, but I always remind myself in my job now as commissioner and managing the league office, it's the game above all. So I think we have to [determine] what makes the most sense for the game.

"That's why I'm sensitive about guys being able to make their free throws, and I also find that sometimes it's a fascinating strategy. We're very conservative when it comes to changing the rules of the game. That's why changing the rules of the game requires more than the majority of the owners; it requires a super majority. So we've got to be very careful, but it is something that we're looking at closely."

Doc Rivers: Players Want To Be Like Mike, Coaches Want To Be Like Pop

Apr 19, 2015 4:12 PM

Doc Rivers talked about how much he admires Gregg Popovich ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers' first round series against the San Antonio Spurs.

"I think every coach in the league wants to be like Pop," Rivers said. "Players want to be like Mike. We want to be like Pop."

Rivers nearly replaced Popovich as head coach of the Spurs in 1999. The Spurs had started the lockout-shortened season slowly and there was pressure to fire Popovich and hire Rivers, who was a member of their broadcast team.

Said Avery Johnson: "There was a lot of noise about Pop being potentially replaced by Doc."

The Spurs turned around their season and eventually won the Finals.

"The only talk I had back then was I made sure I wasn't a part of all that bulls---," Rivers told ESPN.com on Saturday. "I don't think it was as close as people thought it was. Maybe it was. I've read that it was. I tried to stay out of it."

Chris Paul, Blake Griffin Have On-Court Argument

Apr 15, 2015 3:36 AM

Chris Paul and Blake Griffin argued on the court on Tuesday despite having a 23-point lead at the time.

"I hate when stuff goes unsaid," Doc Rivers said. "They were upset over one of the plays. Blake was more upset at himself. I didn't mind it at all ... They were up huge and they were mad at a miscommunicated play, and I kind of like that.

"You need it. I would say a year ago whenever anybody got upset over a play or something no one talked to each other. This group has really grown. We're just so much better at that. That gives you a chance, and in the West, all you can ask for is a chance."

Paul and Griffin engaged in an animated discussion in front of the Clippers' bench after Griffin was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer with less than one second left in the first half. After teammates tried to mediate the conversation, Paul walked toward the bench and Griffin walked toward the court.

"To me, personally, I think it's a great thing for two guys like that to not settle for being up by 23 going into the locker room," Griffin said. "It's probably a perfectionist thing on both of our parts, but I think it's a great thing. The fact that we're out there talking about that last play shows we've made a lot of growth as a team."

Griffin said the conversation "was about the last couple of plays" down the stretch of the first half.
