76ers Send Brackins To Springfield

Nov 30, 2010 7:35 AM

The 76ers are sending rookie forward Craig Brackins to the NBA Developmental League for five games with the Springfield Armor.

Brackins has mostly been deactivated this season, appearing in just one game.

"We think this will really help him," coach Doug Collins said. "More than anything, like I tell him if he was to go back to Iowa State he'd be the most dominant player out there, but you don't see it right now because he's not getting that time here. We're hoping that maybe he can go get some game time and see how much he's improved."

Brackins seemed excited about the move, which will allow him to get more playing time.

"I'm excited about it," he said. "I'm going to work on a lot of stuff that I need to work on and get in shape. I don't care how many lines you run, basketball shape is different.

"It will be kind of like coming here, not knowing anybody. But you adjust. It's just playing basketball. Coach has been telling me to work on defense, work on rebounding because they know I can score. It's guarding the wing players because they said at some point they can see me playing some 'three' and then playing some 'four' men on defense. So it's low-post defense, wing defense and rebounding. Just doing stuff that I really don't get a chance to do."

Iguodala Wouldn't Be Surprised By Trade

Nov 27, 2010 10:59 AM

76ers forward Andre Iguodala doesn't expect to be in Philadelphia much longer.

"I would love to stay in Philadelphia, but if I'm playing somewhere else, I definitely understand how that could happen. I know how the business works," Iguodala told FanHouse.

"You have to be prepared for anything in this league. And I am. It's one of the first things you learn when you get here. Guys get traded on draft night."

Iguodala, playing in his seventh season, has spent his entire career with the 76ers.

If Philadelphia fails to make the playoffs, it'll mark the fourth time in Iguodala's seven seasons. He has never advanced past the first round in the postseason.
